'13 JUCO DT Ben Bradley (Auburn commmit)

Nooooo ....... What two guys on campus are very good at the Jack? Autry would probably be a starter at Jack for us.

Jaq Smith, I know I know you don't like him.

Jordan Williams, you said yourself that he will be a beast at JACK as soon as he got moved there.

sorry JMoore thats pure BS

Great Coaching maximizes their players abilities by putting them in positions that they can succeed and excel.

If this staff got Autry you best believe any coach worth half his pay grade would do everthing to get him on the field
You dont fit players into schemes, You fit schemes around your players.

its the reason why a Dequan Menzie and Javier Arenas played the exact same star position at Alabama yet played very different roles.

:salute: This......All Day that's why Sal is going to run multiple fronts. And I've got a feeling he's going to line up Curt Maggitt everywhere.

Jac Smith is still doing the same ish. Why you think Coach Sal was going off on him on the sideline. Willie Bo and Jordan Williams look much better setting the edge to me. But Autry is a better athlete than any D-lineman/Jack we've got on campus.

Jac needs to play more disciplined football. He's talented but makes mistakes.

Jordan has a lot of talent but he's still too young. Great upside, needs more experience.

Autry would have started at Jack IMO. He was an EE and would've learned the system in time to face NC St.

Sorry man, You dont know what youre talking about.

let me break it down. If you havea DE on your roster who is strictly a pass rusher, why would you play him at Right DE opposite the TE just because your scheme says so...

Trust me, if we landed Autry he would PLay it has nothing to do with Scheme.

if you're a coach who runs a 3-4 scheme and you tell me you would sit a guy like Leonard Little on the bench because he is a 4-3 DE then youre a moron.

Great Coaches are flexible when it comes to scheme when it means getting your best players on the field.

simple, basic football.

Bill Belichek was a ground and pound HC going back to his cleveland days, guess what he did when he got Tom Brady... I shouldnt have to explain any further

I agree with Jay on this one. You take the best player at almost any position regardless of scheme with very few exceptions. You can adapt a scheme to fit players if you are a good coach. Tennessee is in no position to turn down players of Autry's calibre because he doesn't fit a particular mold.

Coaches find a way to utilize NFL talent. Autry is an NFL talent.

Extremely excited about Ben Bradley coming to Knoxville. I think this D-line class is going to be absolutely nasty.

Looking back, we are actually very lucky we didn't get Autry. He wouldn't fit the scheme we are running now. Too small to play DE in the 3-4 & we didn't need a JUCO LB (which is what he would have played here in Sal's scheme, Alabama wanted Autry as a JACK)

I agree J and have actually thought the same before. I do remember getting banned from his thread over one of those MSU trolls the day he committed lol

Little played LB & DE at Tennessee. He would have likely been a JACK LB in a 3-4.

My argument isn't that Autry wasn't good enough, heck Nick Saban wanted him at Bama to play JACK but Autry wasn't sold on it.

Maybe I misworded what I was trying to say. I feel that the scholarship was better used somewhere else b/c we didn't need a JUCO JACK LB b/c IMO we have 2 very good
ones on campus right now.

if this guy is like Little I will take 11 all for Defense. 50 d, 4-3' 3-4, nickle whatever. GBO!!!

You guys are so funny by suggesting that we would be better without a maybe elite level pass rusher on the team. Especially seeing that we had all of "0" pass rush last year. Okay keep thinking that. Having Curt Maggitt and Autry coming of opposite edges would've been fun. I bet if he was wearing Orange you and jmo's tone would change.

When everyone thought he was gonna be a Vol, they was saying he was gonna immediately be one of our defensive anchors. No way you are a better team by missing on a guy like Autry.

I hated that we didn't get him and I still think he could have helped us. We can use all the talent we can get.

Stewart is from rock hill know his dad personally. He is a good kid. From what he has told me he has got some looks from Tennessee and some other schools sure you will hear alot more from him this year. Last year he had a decent year after breaking his leg his first year up there. Will see if I can talk to his dad this week and see what he says

Moved us to 21 on the team ranks on rivals

I think it might have actually moved us even higher. The rankings say they haven't updated since June 7, and if you look at Vanderbilt (who is one ahead of us in that list), they actually have one less commit as well as a lower star ranking. Doesn't make sense for them to be ranked ahead of us if the rankings have updated. Once they have, we should be somewhere between 13-20 probably. I'm not too concerned with that number right now, though, because it will change a lot between now and then. The ebbs and flows.

Thundervol55 asked Perroni (who evaluates JUCO's on Rivals) if he would evaluate Bradley and assign him a star rating. Perroni's response...

So Perroni has never seen any film on Bradley but already has an idea of his star ranking. Yet rivals claims to not base ratings on offer lists. Some real in depth evaluating going on over there. Maybe, just maybe, we should trust the coach's evaluations over guys like Perroni?

When I saw he got a 4* rating, I immediately thought of this post. Rivals is winning.

He's obviously not any better but I do think having guys with higher ratings in our class will make us more attractive to other big time recruits. Good players want to play with other good players.

We've got to turn up the heat on Johnson now. Didn't realize how serious the competition is with him and he is definitely looking at all his options. Need to get him back on campus asap.
