Big difference between having a "fine" RB or a very good one

We havent been dominant at RB since Hardesty.

there isnt an SEC Team that would trade our RBs for theirs. That is a Tremendous Problem

Smart coaches would play JRM at safety. Wouldn't even consider him playing offense. He would be a monster at safety. I think he would be at best "good" at RB. On defense he would stop all the nonsense of RBs running through our safeties and provide an anchor the CBs can trust backing them up. Love him at safety personally. Going to really help us early along with Johnson.

You can have a good RB all you want but when your defense gives 40-50 to troy and other schools all year that's the major issue. Worry about RB next year with Hurd and some other prospects, defense needs to be fixed ASAP.

I tend to agree that JRM's more natural on defense. I believe he will see valuable minutes this fall. Depth behind Neal and Lane is weak, but I don't see him on offense, imo.

Exactly. There is nothing about Jones not having an offer to UA. If Jones is not a part of the UA class that is on him not UA. And if he goes anywhere it would be UGA, no where else.

Wow you sound pretty confident about this one. The one thing I have learned in recruiting is that you never talk like you know something as a fact. Unless your the player or the coach you don't really know the facts.

RBs can help control a game.

If You knock 10 extra minutes off of time of possession during a game and its a lot easier to play defense. and you do that by running the ball.

we did not get consistent play from our RBs last year. we couldnt pick up tough yards nor break a tackle to extend drives

plenty of average Defenses have looked remarkably better because they werent on the field as much due to their offensive counterpart being able to run the ball.

Maybe apply that logic on here. I was addressing the rumor being made up. Like I said Jones could end up not at UA.

RB is just as big of a concern. Our defense isnt as bad as they looked last yr. Coaching and a change in scheme was the biggest prob. We were much younger and better the yr before under Wilcox. Both areas are concerns I promise you.

Jones has signed. He was never in doubt in the 1st place, some people just run with rumors. Just giving an update since so many people reported false info in this thread
