'13 GA QB Josh Dobbs (UT signee)

It's interesting that as smart as he is, he's going to ASU. That is a joke of an educational institution.

Lovely, uh, scenery though.

I started working at ASU in 1990. ASU has become a lot different than the (academic) joke it may have been 25 years ago. Engineering college is very good. W.P. carey School of Business (my current employer) is a top 25 Business school with a top 5 Supply Chain Mgt program and recently a number 2 online MBA program. Also Cronkite School of Journalism is not too bad.

At ASU you can find a good academic program/challenge or you can find a "joke" of an education as well. When you have 70,000(?) students on 4 campuses - one can find about whatever one wants.

As far as the scenery....the palm trees and cacti; as well as the Frank Loyd Wright architecture are all very excellent. (that's what you were refering to, correct?)

As far as Dobbs - I feel like I win whether he stays at ASU or goes to the Vols. Win/win for me!

Players I work with at ASU like and have bought in to coach Graham. He may be the "Butch Jones" of the PAC-12 (with a year head start).

If he's interested in an aerospace program, has he heard of Tullahoma?

You from there? I am in Manchester. I still think it is cool that Johnny and Phil were both from Franklin Co. so there is 30+ years of UT football within one county. I love to hear ole Johnnys stories about hopping the train in Huntland and riding to Tullahoma.

Always passing through. From Chattanooga but moved to Hendersonville 10 years ago after my wife retired from teaching. She's from up here.

I followed my brother by getting a business degree in logistics and transportation at UT. My brother is 8 years older and was at UT when logistics was starting to grow and become more popular. I was told early on that UT had a premier program and ASU was another, along with Penn State and maybe Ohio State. I don't know how they all rank now, but I think these schools had great faculty and really started the promotion of the major and made it what it is today. When my brother was in school, people always asked what it was. Now, I think everyone knows.

Neither has played a down of collegiate football so that's really hard to make a definitive statement on. Personally I would love to have both.

Very true. Bray seemed to have a ton of hype coming out of highschool, but he never seemed to get his feet under him at UT in my opinion. GBO

Im pretty sure 99% of the people on this board know nothing about academics. Getting a bu!!sh!t degree in sports management or marketing doesn't make you an expert on academics...

Sure, ASU is no harvard or MIT, but they have some impressive facilities and faculty, including nobel prize winners.

Also, school rankings hardly matter for undergrads, especially athletes and their typically bogus majors. The level of undergrad education is 90% the same no matter where you go.

A custodial engineer degree from ASU, UT, or MIT will probably teach you to wipe the floor the same way.

This kid is actively interested in academics and making a sound decision based on it, which is rare for the typical athlete despite the fact that, statistically, the academics will be more important to them in the long run. Kudos to him.

But yeah, I hope he wears Orange next year!

I got a 34 on my ACT, and actually took the academic version of an "official visit" to ASU. So I know a little about them thar' school learnings, chief.

Best years of my life so far were spent in Tullahoma, Winchester and Manchester. I love that area and think about it often. I spent many nights bouncing between Daddy Billy's and London's. Good times

Dobbs is better.

Keep in mind that Ferguson's relatives have made appearances on this board. Moreover, judging QBs at the HS level is more difficult than just about any other position.

Would you not agree that Bray is better than Jake Heaps, Philip Sims, Connor Wood, Brett Nottingham, Jesse Scroggins, and Blake Bell? All were rated higher per Rivals.

There are MANY other examples. Let me know if you'd like me to cite them for you.

I just watched some highlight videos of this kid. He's got a hell of an arm and has great on field vision.

I'm not going off rankings. And what do I care that Ferguson's family is on the board? The truth is the truth.

The point clearly went over your head. I just used rankings to defend my point. QBs are very difficult to judge in HS. We won't have any idea who's better until 3 years down the road.

The fact people don't reserve their comments in a respectful manner when they know relatives are present just shows lack of character. JMO, of course.

Lack of character? I've said nothing bad about RF. Just that Dobbs is better.

All he said was he thinks Dobbs is better didnt say anything bad about Ferguson.

Not picking sides, but no one really knows who will be better. The truth has yet to play itself out. This is strictly your opinion...and we all know what opinions are like...and everyone has one.
