Like the fact that this kid came to camp and earned an offer. I also like the Jackson kid from Miami that camped and impressed.

Bonner gives our wrs fits and Gray struggles against Troys wrs. I think Gray ends up a good one tho and hes very coachable.
I watched Bonner struggle a bit versus Georgia State. Both are young players as well as Coleman. This is the dumbest scheme I've ever seen for young undeveloped CBs. Plus they don't have disciplined safeties to play centerfield and help them out.
Guys in this thread calling Teague anything Amazing is funny. He wouldn't be a better slot guy than anyone we line up in the slot now. He blocked well but that was it. Richardson had started to take snaps from Teague before the stupidity took over.
People saying coaching doesn't matter but Saban made a secondary led by Rashard Johnson(former walk-on), Justin Woodall(former MLB baseball player prospect), Marquis Johnson(nothing special), Javier Arenas(blitzing short area nickel back), and Kareem Jackson(coached up overrated Saban CB). These guys weren't freak athletes at all but they played their roles and Saban never asked them to do things they couldn't do. These young guys are more athletic but have a coach that can't scheme period.
I have no comment on this pick-up. It is what it is. These coaches are who they are.
When Bonner gives our guys fits its always 1 on 1. DR and Bonner got along really well and Dr worked with Bonner a lot during the summer.
My problem is this people ragged Gray which is fine if they know what they are looking at. A safety blowing coverages will make a CB look like he's getting burned. I've said all along that Bonner had better skills but Gray had better tools. But in a defense where you expect to have safety help and it's not there then the CB will have big problems all game. No CB outside of Primetime can play Cover 0 all game.
I think the coaches feel like Gray understands the defense better than Bonner. I say throw Bonner out there and let him take his lumps, really how much worse could it be?
The players have sad multiple times that the defense is super complicated and a lot to grasp. I honestly think it's dumbed down to where it can't possibly be any more simple.
Is this guy from LA? I haven't heard of him.
Film doesn't look bad, his first step is very slow, he does a good job of attacking until the last second then he gets shy with his tackle.
He looks like he is playing against a Pee-wee team though, there is no size on the other teams. Hard to gauge this one, unless he had gone to one of UT's camps.
I suspect he will eventually bulk up (330 or so) and be a decent 3-4 DL. He's not terribly fast, but strong enough to plug a hole and occupy a couple of linemen. Project perhaps, but he has potential to fill a necessary role on the team.
Young man: Congratulations to you and your family! Welcome to Big Orange Country! We may be a little ill-tempered right now, but we hope for better days ahead and look forward to you destroying a few SEC OLinemen in the next few years.
Are you sure we will be continuing with the 3-4 defense from next year ?
Not bashing you man... just pissed about the defense that we have now
Certainly not sure, but we can only recruit for the defense we expect to run, not the one some other unknown coordinator may want. Besides, he may be better as a 4-3 DL. Who knows?
