He said he didnt mean that as a slight to Tennessee, it was just referring to the fact that there are so many coaches doing in home visits this week that he wasnt sure when we were going to be there. kinda of like, the coaches are lined up out the door, please take a number and i will be right with you.
some of you need to remember these are kids doing interviews, sometimes their intent and the way it sounds are two different things. In his case, the meaning of his comments had more to do with the fact that he was taken back by all of the attention he was suddenly getting and not sure how they were going to accomodate all of the coaches that suddenly want to visit. It was a poor choice of words but not the slap in the face that many took it as (myself included until I read his further comments on the statement and the visit). Either way, we should never tweet a recruit anything negative period. Other players often time see this stuff and it may turn them off and its just wrong to do anyway. JMO!
I'm not criticizing or trying to get in the kids head. I just don't think we're a real player for him. I think he is enjoying the process and trying to make a name for himself (especially through the Twitter world). Nothing wrong with that I guess but I just don't think if he was serious about coming to Tennessee he would have "slipped up" using those words. I think we are truly an afterthought for him. Now I am not one of those saying this guy is an attention whore and we dont need his attitude. I think hes a real talent that could be a real player for us. Youre not going to be able to fill your class with Carl Lawson type players recruits that are genuinely humble and classy and highly rated. They are just so rare.
