'13 GA DE Davin Bellamy (UGA signee)

He said he didnt mean that as a slight to Tennessee, it was just referring to the fact that there are so many coaches doing in home visits this week that he wasnt sure when we were going to be there. kinda of like, the coaches are lined up out the door, please take a number and i will be right with you.

some of you need to remember these are kids doing interviews, sometimes their intent and the way it sounds are two different things. In his case, the meaning of his comments had more to do with the fact that he was taken back by all of the attention he was suddenly getting and not sure how they were going to accomodate all of the coaches that suddenly want to visit. It was a poor choice of words but not the slap in the face that many took it as (myself included until I read his further comments on the statement and the visit). Either way, we should never tweet a recruit anything negative period. Other players often time see this stuff and it may turn them off and its just wrong to do anyway. JMO!

I'm not criticizing or trying to get in the kids head. I just don't think we're a real player for him. I think he is enjoying the process and trying to make a name for himself (especially through the Twitter world). Nothing wrong with that I guess but I just don't think if he was serious about coming to Tennessee he would have "slipped up" using those words. I think we are truly an afterthought for him. Now I am not one of those saying “this guy is an attention whore” and “we don’t need his attitude”. I think he’s a real talent that could be a real player for us. You’re not going to be able to fill your class with Carl Lawson type players – recruits that are genuinely humble and classy and highly rated. They are just so rare.

Yea I agree about people not tweeting hateful posts, it doesn't look good on the school to recruits, tweet them all the positive stuff you want to in the world. I mean I kind of took it as a UT is on the backburner right now. I def think this kid likes to play up to the media that is covering him from that school. IE when he came up here he did the same thing about talking about how he was talking with other top players "and we may get a suprise on NSD with big names" did the same thing with UGA who knows what this kid is thinking.

So Rich...You have something positive to say about this clown at an NFL level but he coached our defense to depths never before seen at the college level? Alrighty then. He's a good coach at the pro level....just can't teach kids. Cough cough.

You don't seem to comprehend the difference between a position coach and the coordinator. Sal will no longer make play decisions or put players in position, he just coaches the position something he did successfully in the NFL 7 years.

We all hate what he did to our team, but you are making yourself look like an idiot. Please take a breathe and use that oxygen to think for a second man

Hopefully Davin has inquired or will ask Grantham where he will be coaching next season.

Davin is the #1 OLB in football, College or Pro. Grantham has it worked into his deal in Philly he will be bringing the "Lebron James" of HS football with him to the Eagles. Todd may have not been hired w/out Bellamy coming along.

You know some of you are sad. When a recruit talked junk about UT. You all still ride his junk. I just let him know that was wrong to say

Why did you feel it was YOUR responsibility to set him straight??

Everybody needs to start acting like ADULTS and let the COACHES do their jobs. Stop doing childish crap that hurts recruiting. Why is is so important for people to be so defensive about some recruits comments??

OK, so you are offended (that's what we do in America these days right? Get offended by the least little thing?) Why does that mean that you have to jump onto a message board or twitter to show your butthurt??

Just stop.

I would second that. I have serious problems with anyone (especially older fans) tweeting prospective players and actually engaging in twitter (which I can't stand) arguments. This shows a real lack of substance and class to take something written on twitter, etc. personally. I hope, and this is a stretch, that everyone on VN can act grown up and somewhat sophisticated. There is more to life than stalking teenage boys.

The fans can easily turn recruits off to a school making ridiculous comments to a kid on the social media websites. Some fans need to grow the hell up and leave these kids alone. There are kids that like to play games in recruiting, let them be and leave them alone. Don't add fuel to the fire. The coaches have a hard enough time recruiting right now without stupid fans making it worse.

Bellamy should heed his own words, go where you are needed, not where you are just wanted.

UT needs Bellamy and he will make a difference. At UGA he is just another talented linebacker waiting in a long line for some playing time.

One thing that will happen. GA, Bama, etc will fill up. We'll have a few spots open for some choice picks.

It looks like we will definitely have room for Bellamy. We have six spots open and seven targets, eight if you count that RB we just offered. But we look to be on the outside looking in for Alvin Kamara and Reuben Foster with conflicting information on Montravius Adams.

Yeah, I think we may benefit and land one or two that are considering Bama, FL, LSU, or GA.

Recruits come in various sizes and shapes. The kids who talk all the time probably make it the most fun and, also, the most entertaining.

The kids who don't really say much or say "great visit, everything was wonderful" are the most frustrating.

Any really talented recruit, short of an OL, should seriously consider what Coach Jones and the staff are selling because, at Tennessee, it is really TRUE....if you want an opportunity to play early and often come to TENNESSEE.

It is not coach speak. Mr.Bellamy if you are as talented as you think that you are....come to Tennessee.
