I am surprised to hear anything today. The family said consistently that they would meet on Monday and then call the coaches. They also said there would be no announcment at all until Wednesday. ESPN is carrying the hat ceremony and they want the suspense. Why would Carl say anything before then????? He might have picked Auburn but the statements attributed to him just sound fake to me.

I wish Lawson had at least waited until Monday to make a decision. At least let the high of the Auburn visit wear off. I wonder if he even plans on calling UT and Clemson now that the news is out.

Lawson's dad said on rivals Carl never intended to go anywhere except Auburn, Think he played us for the attention imo we wasted alot of time on him we could have used elsewhere. If he is such a class act why did he lead us on. I sure wish him no luck at all.

"Lots of rumours so I thought I share some things...

I just got off the phone with him, he LOVED UT fans...he said by far the best support he has seen. He also thinks Stribling is the best DL coach he met.

Why he went with AU..came down to the heart. He even said logically UT was a great choice but he felt home at AU ever since he first set foot on campus. It goes beyond a coach or winning. He is that kind of kid.

He was very torn after his UT visit, and UT did an amazing job recruiting him. Credit Jones, Thig and Graham for doing everything possible. They will get some of the best players trust me, i met all of them several times, recruiting is on the right track.

Recruiting is a dirty business and it always will be, lots of miss information lots of dealings by third and forth parties, after talking to him I really do not think anything fishy went on. Some of you will think that no matter what I say..but Carl and his family are good people who don't want hand outs.

While it hurts losing a talent like Carl, I know that UT will be fine over the next few years..UT should have never been even in play..but we were very much in it."

Sheww, this is really heart breaking missing out on rare talent like Lawson. I know I should move on and forget about this but it just sucks missing out on talent that we really need on defense. Maybe we'll catch a break soon. Good luck Mr. Lawson at Auburn, thanks for considering us. :salute:

Makes it hurt a little more reading this. The fact that he thinks UT is a great choice, and Stripling is the best DL coach that he met speaks volumes, as does his comment about our fanbase! I really thought his decision would come down to his position coach and if he could trust Garner...that's why I thought we could possibly flip him. Good luck to you, CL! You are one classy kid.
