'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

I think as I've always said, it's going to be tough for Tennessee to overcome this weekend. Not saying they won't be able to do it, but Auburn having that last visit has always been hard to ignore. I think Tennessee has done a great job getting to where they are with him which is a good spot, but I think they're going to have to wait it out.

I don't know, he already has ill will towards Garner. Let's just hope his excuses for not offering while at UGA back fire on him.

I don't want to compete with vandy and msu, I want to dominate uf and ua. We need talent for that.

Yeah, I expect to beat MSU and Vandy. Hell, I expect to see tomorrow morning. What I want is to beat Bama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, et al. I don't think losing Lawson would be the end of the world, but gaining him would certainly be a start to something better than what we've seen here recently. And, to the other poster's point, yes, I agree that we shouldn't underestimate good coaching. Jones will make a lot of difference here.

We all do. But right now, we can't recruit as well because we have consistently played below our talent. When we start playing above our talent, we will start recruiting better. It won't happen this year, but it will happen. You want a great example of how that works over time? See USCjr.

Lawson's been to Auburn a number of times. I don't see what's special about this weekend versus all the other times. Fortenberry acts like this is a game where a recruit is keeping score and Auburn getting the last visit is the Barn scoring a TD.

Reality is, he's made up his mind and he's going to Auburn.

All Garner has to do is play the "It wasn't up to me while I was at UGA" card.

Exactly. The final decision won't be made based on liking or not liking Garner. Carl will decide based on which campus he likes best, and where he 's sees himself being most successful, both individually and as part of a team.

At least this is my opinion based on all I have read

Garner will lock this up. Sorry but I never believed the "he decommitted weeks ago." The whole line of he didnt make it public because he didnt want coaches calling him is horse crap lol. Since when has anyone stopped calling kids once they are committed?

He is a lot like VB, looking for an excuse to go to Auburn like Bell is to be a Vol. Staff did great making a run and staying in it til the end.

It's because it's not the same staff. He wants to know them better and find out which fit is better for him.

All we can hope for is that something happens on the visit this weekend that lets the Lawsons see that Garner has been lying to them to try to keep him at Auburn. If not, he's all Barn.

Let's see if this thread can get over 400 pages just with the wringing of hands posts from Uzzi's news....come on, lets go, get pumped!!!!!

Anyway, Lawson would be a tough pull regardless of the last visit, but Uzzi's news still has UT's foot in the door and I genuinely think Lawson is torn on where he wants to go to school.

Tennessee still has some momentum and I am sure CBJ and Co will be staying in his ear all the way, just like Garner gets paid to do his job so do UT's coaches.

We need to pay CMR to come out and say, "awww hell no, us not offering Lawson was all on Garner. And Garner doesn't bathe regularly either."

If you think Auburn runs a clean program then your ignorant.

That's not the part I thought was ignorant. Saying they have nothing to offer is an ignorant thought process. They have plenty to offer. Maybe you don't like the campus, or think the town around sucks, but someone else could love both. Clearly, Carl likes the campus. Therefore, they having something to offer.
