'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

I see carl sticking with his commitment. But if he is a vol on NSD :3cheers::3cheers::baloon::baloon::baloon::groupwave::3083yourock:

So Garner and Carl Sr. Made up. Big deal, we knew this would happen. Garner had every incentive to make nice, and a perfect scapegoat or the original problem in Richt.

It's still a 50/50 proposition

It does seem that way doesn't it?

However, if you really stop and think about....

Tennessee is one improved season away from being right back.

The ONLY thing that Tennessee has not had in the past few years is a coach who can prove he can win. Nobody wants to play for someone who just can't get it done on the field. They want to play for a guy who can win, and who they know will find a way to win.

Once Butch proves that he is that guy (and I believe he is), Tennessee will have all the pieces again. We're going to have stability, we're going to have facilities, we're going to have the conference power, we're going to have the fan base. We're going to have a great university in a great location. And hopefully, we're going to have a winning coach and our winning tradition will be re-established again in this decade!

I wish I shared your optimism.

Yep, I'm with you now. Whatever happens, our staff did a great job on this recruitment. We came out of left field to beat out Clemson and finish in his top 2 (at least), in a very short period of time.

I think this will come down to the end, it's a short trip so taking the fam is not that big of a deal. It's down to UT and AU..neither choice would surprise me.

UT is seing Carl and Fam tomorrow.

I don't think anyone rational here is simply panicking because he's visiting Auburn; it's the fact that he's taking half the state of Georgia with him on the visit that is the legitimate cause for panic.

It's not the visit, it is what UZZI said. I for one am still positive though, until CL calls and confirms the school that will be getting his services.

Ron quoted what UZZI said a few pages back...

People around UT are very positive on how we finish. At the end of the day there are no guarantees, but word is we will do fine.

Last I heard on Lawson is that Clemson is out and that Carl is visiting AU. Sounds like garner and Carl sr made up which is not good for UT.
This will be an SEC battle.

I am excited and worried, keep big picture in mind this class will not make or break coach jones next year will.

Clemson contact telling me that AU is attempting to hire Carl Sr. as a Asst Strength & Conditioning coach.

I do not buy it as he seems like a straight up guy, however, we are a week away from Signing Day.

Clemson contact sounds like a VN member...

Cliffs from AU Rivals -

- Lawson will be joined by his father, mother, uncle, two step-brothers and his speed and agility coach on the trip.

Does anyone know who has accompanied him to UT? His dad is always mentioned, but what about his mom and step-brothers?

Negative. That position has already been filled by Mr. Foster. Mr. Lawson SR would have to interview for the opening for desiganted towel waver & chest bumper. The position just recently became available. :hi:

Rather than proceeding to dress in black and start cutting your selves, why don't some of you doomsayers please do some actual research.

Try this one on: How did Mississippi State and Vanderbilt drill us like they did? Seriously? Was it their teams full of 5 star talent? Was it because we don't have a team full of 5 star talent?

While you're at it, take a look at how great Oregon has recruited over the last 4 yours. Why are they insurmountably better than us?

Since most wont take the time to do the research I'll give you the answers. We beat the crap out of both MS and Vandy in recruiting, and were roughly equal to Oregon. The only reason that we aren't playing at that level is coaching. We now have a coach that wins above his teams recruiting level, and he will do the same at UT. It may not work out this year, but it will work out in time. Seriously. Put down the razor blades...

Not like we havent been down this road before you would think people would be accustomed to it by now.

I don't want to compete with vandy and msu, I want to dominate uf and ua. We need talent for that.
