'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

Anybody notice that on scout it has him with low interest in North Carolina and Tennessee, but medium interest in Clemson and ole miss?

Brent on if TN leads...not a ringing endorcement IMO.

He nor his dad will indicate Tennessee leads. I think Tennessee has positioned themselves well. But a looming Auburn visit has to be very concerning for the Vols.

I'd feel better if he either canceled his visit or decommitted from Auburn. Ideally, he'd do both and publicly announce for UT. I know, I can dream.

I just really don't want to open this thread after his Auburn visit and see quotes from Lawson saying how they reaffirmed how he felt when he first to committed to Auburn and that he is shutting down his recruitment and sticking with Auburn. going to be such a long few weeks!

Man yall are going to give yourselves ulcers. If BJ says we're going to shock ppl on NSD, I'll go with that. He knows better than to set up our fan base after what we've gone through lately.

When did CBJ say this?

I'm trying to dig it up and provide a link like I should have done in the first place. I've read about 30 pages of stuff this morning trying to find any solid news. It could have been a retweet or simply a "cbj said " kind of thing. I'll do better in the future not to just spill random stuff.

*edit* Ok I found where I read that. My fault. I got this intertwined with something else I was reading and thought it was a direct quote, sorry. http://www.volnation.com/forum/tennessee-vols-football/187732-some-good-news-vols.html

His heart is with AU of he would have decommitted a long time ago. He's giving them every chance he can to keep him.

I hope this isn't true but I get that feeling too.

Hopefully he is just "covering all his bases" so to speak so that he is 100% sure he makes the right decision when he chooses to be a VOL.

It's open to interpretation but I haven't gotten that feeling at all. IMO he may as well be uncommitted. He's just a low key guy and AU still has a chance, so why ruffle feathers at AU by decommiting when he could still end up there?

I'm not saying we get him but I think it's anybody's game. Since the AU coaching change I've never heard anything come out of his mouth that referred to "his heart with AU".

No problem, good recovery.

I don't know what to expect...you can make the argument that he is loyal and, like you said, is giving them every chance to keep him. Or, it's also logical that he isn't going to say anything one way or the other until he is 100% certain...and part of that certainty is determining who might join him at UT or AU. Further, if he was to decommit at this time, countless schools will come out of the woodwork thinking his recruitment has been reopened. Based on what has been written and said so far, that is the very last thing CLaw and his family wants to see happen...

I think if the shoe was on the other foot and he had been an early commitment to UT but now AU had moved into the picture, he'd still be a commitment to UT, albeit a rather soft one.

Saw Carl at a tutoring center today. Gave him a go vols as he was getting up to leave. His face lit up and he chuckled and gave a go vols in return.
