'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

Scout shows visit to Ole Miss on Jan, 28th, no visit to Tennessee. Rivals shows visit to Tennessee on Jan, 11th, no visit to Ole Miss.

Please just go back and read my entire post history over the years. It was not even a battle. It was just a point on why GT left the SEC almost 50 years ago and how we are somewhat relevent in college football and been to 17 straight bowl games. Gee Whiz........you would think I have pissed on UT for the last two years. It is not true. Just want some props to the Jackets from the Prat(who I really like as a poster) on the real reason they left and to not skew it as fact. Left a link that I thought some CFB fans would enjoy. And even said I hope UT will start a streak soon.

I blew out my whole sections and almost had a heart attack at Mizzou game over CDD laying down.

Gee Whiz! I know we are way down but this drama in the fan base to their own fans is ridiculous.

Tech made a big mistake when he decided to pull out of the SEC. He thought GT could do better as an independent and compete with ND for the big money. They later realized their mistake and wanted back in the SEC, but were turned down. Thus, they end up in the ACC. I would like to have them back in the SEC, but doubt it will happen.

That's great. Now how does this pertain to Carl Lawson?

Lets wait to see him beat UA and LSU before he is anointed the next great SEC coach.

I didn't anoint him anything I just said he was a great football coach. I've sat in our coaches office and heard him sell his program and he gets you interested and excited about football. The man just wins, and that is something any team can use. He's selling playing time and more importantly building something new down there. Sadly the same message Dooley should have been selling

All that said I really hope we get Lawson. He is the type of player we haven't had in quite a while and we need him in a bad way.

I know this has been said but I feel like Lawson is the key. If he commits, I could see Green and North joining him in the keystone recruiting class to getting UT back to its rightful place in the college football world. I think we still have a shot at Green and North without Lawson but I think Lawson would galvanize the class. His commitment could also help with Bell, though I fear he is a lost cause at this point. If we could get Crayton, another DT, a few LBs, and some defensive backs to close the class with Lawson, Green, and North, that would be great.

Lawson is key....fills a HUGE need...pass rush specialist...gives validation to CBJ to the other recruits...creates big momentum......I want Lawson regardless, but it would extremely valuable to have him commit early in January if he is going to

The Vols need Lawson. Lawson, Carr, Bellamy, Trey Johnson, and VB are more needed than Derrick Green. Would love these guys and two other RB's we are on instead of Green and call it a day. Also, some big uglies interior DL and OL. This would be a class that can get UT started back to where we want it to be.

I thought Carr was pretty much a lock to decommit?

From Rivals about UA game practice -

Carl Lawson - multiple observers said Lawson was "unstoppable" and a "beast" today, dominated the competition. Lawson is the best player in the nation in these settings.

This kid has to end up in orange. SCtiger, do you know if the Chizik to USC DC rumor has any legs? Just wondering if that happens if it would have an effect on Lawson's decision. I'm guessing they'll name a DC in the next day or two.

All I have seen is the same speculation you may have seen about Chizik as USCw DC. I doubt he is sharing much information about himself with Aurburn these days. As far as impact on Lawson, I think it would be minimal.

I've not seen very much infomation about Lawson during dead period. Only thing I heard from AU is that he and Garner had a "good" conversation a day or two before Christmas.

Serious question...What was Dooley selling recruits if winning, bldg something new, and playing time weren't it??? Not trying to be JA but really would like to know. Thx.
