'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

Last time I'm commenting on this. I don't understand how you guys don't see my point in saying it is partly Dooley's fault. Recruits come to schools for family atmospheres, the head coach is a father figure to these kids, they are looking for an example to follow whether they realize it or not. I don't think Dooley was a good example and I think it showed.

You need to build close relationships especially with your star players. Letting them know the example that they need to set for others. Letting them know the responsibility they have. I just don't feel like Dooley ever did that.

But it's whatever. It's obviously more of Daricks fault, but you can't not put some blame on Dooley as well.

You can comment on it all you want. Yes its absolutely part Dooley's fault. Also part Hinshaw's, who was his position coach. But ultimately it was on DR. He got in trouble before he even made his first reception as a Vol. Unfortunately it was inevitable and most likely would have happened no matter where he ended up. Plus not having a true leader at QB and one who acted an a$$ on and off the field.

Most of this post is correct except for the statement about it being inevitable wherever he ended up. Pretty much any coach in the country could have done a better job of controlling him, except Richt maybe.

Carl Lawson

Defensive end
6-foot-2, 253 pounds
Milton High School, Alpharetta, Ga.
The Skinny: Lawson has been committed to Auburn, but has been listening to others. One of those is Tennessee and Lawson has been listening to the Vols a lot. Lawson is scheduled to visit the Vols on January 11th. He is also reportedly interested in Ole Miss and it will be interested to see where Auburn is with Lawson after the hiring of Rodney Garner. Garner didn't recruit Lawson to Georgia. Tennessee seems to have a good bit of momentum with Lawson, who is trained by former Vol Constantin Ritzmann. And the Vols certainly need a defensive end who can not only hold the edge playing the run, but can also affect the passing game by rushing the quarterback.

Interesting that the supposed uzzi post from VQ has yet to be proven true. Anyone? I really hope it's true

The Vols are trying to go from the outhouse to the penthouse with the nation's second ranked player. Tennessee has made up significant ground in the last couple of weeks after Butch Jones' visit to see Lawson and his father. The changes at Auburn have made things interesting for the one time Tiger commitment. The hiring of Rodney Garner likely doesn't help Auburn as Georgia didn't offer Lawson while Garner was there.
Official visit date: 1-11-2013
Other teams in the mix: Auburn, Clemson, Ole Miss
