I would think Petrino would be at the top of the list but he is 2-6 vs Miles and Saban, with being 0-4 vs Saban. So yes he has done well in the SEC overall but not against the big names in the SEC west. Also doubt Strong or Smart would look that way or many others as long as Dye has anything to do with the program. Remember when CCG was hired he had a losing record at his previous stop.
This guy might have been the smartest AU fan there was in hindsight.

Also FWIW Strong may be the frontrunner for Arkansas.

I also think Petrino would be at the top of the list for the Auburn job.I also would expect Trooper Taylor(aka Auburn's bag man) to be retained until a new coach is named to "hold the class together" IF there is a period of time between the house cleaning and the next hire.
Lots of folks object to Petrino, but its difficult to argue his offensive coaching ability. Not much of a recruiter. Have to wait and see. Not too many question TT's ability to recruit, it is his receiver coaching that is in question.
SIAP ...
Gotta love the tenacity this kid plays with.

From Rivals Recruiting Chat. In answer to question about which 5 Star commits stick with Auburn.
"Lawson is the player that may have a chance to flip. Liner and Foster probably stick."
Looking at Auburn's schedule, I only see two for sure wins left for the season (New Mexico State and Alabama A&M). Ole miss and Vandy are the only other teams left on the schedule that I see ya'll being able to beat and they are not pushovers. Say ya'll win one of Ole Miss and Vandy, thats 4-8. I would think that would be enough to get Chizik the boot. If that happens do you think they stick to their commitment?
Tough question and I agree with your analysis. The more we lose the tougher it will be to hold this class together. Many AU fans think we may have to throw out the baby with the bath water, losing a whole bunch of recruits with wholesale housecleaning of coaching staff. Thus, the question becomes how many recruits are committed to Auburn, rather than committed to the coaches?
That said, I do think Foster and Liner are really, really close and stick together, wherever that may be.

Not trying to debate you here but since Saban has been at UA I do believe that AU is better known nationally for breaking the rules. AU may be that poster child as of late. Just saying.
