There's a problem besides the coaches. We've been a bad tackling team for years no matter who the coordinator is. Think it may have to do with players????

SN: Chief got outcoached in the second half today too.

Yup... One of the luckiest coordinators ever with all the talent he's had everywhere he's been... A lot easier when ur guys r able to do what u tell them to do..

Ur right it's not his job to worry about the offense but the offense is horrible the qb is a joke run game isn't bad when there clicking but his defense did stop them for 3 quarters, did you not see them get to Brantley the whole game ? U can only do so much on d when ur on the field the whole game because ur offense can't give u a break!!!

That's absolutely true, we need a talent upgrade at nearly every position on D. It is realistically nearly like running a 2nd team defense out there all game long.

My point was I had rather have someone known as a good DC than someone who can recruit really good, but not that great of a DC.

Those were just the two guys I threw out. Jury is still out on Sal, just to be fair.

Someone in this thread a few days ago asked about Josh Holsey. He played a bunch yesterday and did a good job for a true freshman. Made a few mistakes but the kid is a great cover corner and nose for the ball. Got one BS interference call that was about ten yards over the receiver's head.

imo james franklin would be a good hire, hes recruited well at vandy and they have show inprovement. just not this year:p

Interesting you say that. I was listening to a weekly Auburn radio one evening early or even slightly before the season. Franklin called the show while he was driving in Alabama back to Nashville. He was very engaging and sure was getting his name out there.

Lot of AU folks still think fondly of Tubs but after mailing it in his last year, I don't think so. Before last night, he did have No.1 defense in the country even playing in pass happy conference. I understand he is mentioned in Arkansas vacancy.

I would think Petrino would be at the top of the list but he is 2-6 vs Miles and Saban, with being 0-4 vs Saban. So yes he has done well in the SEC overall but not against the big names in the SEC west. Also doubt Strong or Smart would look that way or many others as long as Dye has anything to do with the program. Remember when CCG was hired he had a losing record at his previous stop.

This guy might have been the smartest AU fan there was in hindsight.
