"Every time I talk to coach Sunseri I love the conversations we have," Lawson said. "I think the staff is really cool. Coach Sunseri tells me they really want me bad up there and they have high interest in me. He loves my film. He told me that I'm the most explosive player on film. It was a high compliment."

His position coach at Milton High School is former Vol Constantin Ritzman. Very few prospects get to have the chance to learn from a former Division One player.

"I've learned a ridiculous amount," Lawson said. "I've learned so much and he's one of my mentors. I really appreciate the help he's given me. He's made me a better player and taught me a lot."

The former Vol has not pushed Tennessee on Lawson, but he has let him know about his fondness for Rocky Top.

"He talks a lot about Tennessee," Lawson said. "He tells me that it's a great place and that he loves it. He says the fans are crazy. He doesn't care where I go, but he does let me know that he loved his time as a Vol."

"I liked the overall package," Lawson said. "I love meeting coach (Sal) Sunseri. He knows the position and knows how to coach the 3-4 scheme. He's just a great coach and you can tell he knows how to coach the position."

"They are developing a brand as a team," Lawson said. "I love the new defense they have and they are going to play physical. It's very important to play a physical brand of defense especially in the SEC."

"I'm still committed to Auburn," Lawson said. "The only thing that changes is my perspective on the school. I will probably take an official visit to Tennessee this fall. Nothing is set in stone, but I did learn that they really want me and they could use a player like me."

"I spent most of my time with Jacques Smith," Lawson said. "He's a beast and coach Sunseri is making himself into a better player. They showed me film of Courtney Upshaw at Alabama and how they moved him from defensive line to linebacker. They are doing the same thing with Jacques."
