'13 GA CB Brendan Langley

it will be uga for him from everything we hear about it. langley and mauger will be in the red and black if the information we have is right.

Oh well I don't need a scrub taking up space to get a top recruit. At least Mackenro is a good player Mauger is horrible and only got his offer because of his association with Langley.

Tennessee: "I have a good friend of mine (Brian Randolph) who is trying to push me to go up there and they have a few former Alabama coaches - Coach (Sal) Sunseri and Coach (Derrick) Ansley."

Plans to make his decision in late August.

He had a terrible showing at the Bama camp. Young guy I know that was at the camp told me he was getting burned a lot. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

You think it was more growing pains associated with learning the position, lack of top end speed or a combination of the two?

Hell, he admitted himself that Josh Smith got him more than once at our camp. Sounds like its becoming a reoccurring thing.

Which is telling somewhat because before the camp circut he kept posting on his twitter how no one could beat him and whatever.

It was more he was getting rocked to sleep as I was told. BJ(Brandon Byner) was saucing him with pink cleats on. Lol but I heard he just was having trouble and was just getting beat.

My understanding is Saban was working with the DBs and was trying to get them to use certian techniques and Langley struggled with it. Apparantly his strength is his athletic ability and speed. He relies on them way to much. He struggled badly in man coverage and press at the camp. FWIW

Thank both of you for answering my question. Figured it had to be a little bit of both.

Contrary to popular belief, Langley's upside is still thru the roof.

That is a deal breaker for breakerboy

Yeah they say Saban was trying to coach the kid up a lot. But he was just having a tough day. Looks like he's going against guys just as athletic so is technical flaws are showing up early and often.

Strong sentiment that he's going to commit to Carolina within the next week or by the 25th.

Marquez White is ahead of Langley on the board. regardless of what the rankings say the kid shined in camp and some Bama sources feel has the commitable offer. some people are stuck on recruiting rankings but White is very underrated, main reason FSU jumped on him when they did. Bama wanted to see him in camp before they offered but FSU offered a few days before the camp and he committed. if bama pushes they feel he will flip, so it is a wait and see.

One thing about Milliner is that he only started playing CB some his last year of high school, the kid had alot of ability and upsides just needed to be coached up, same for langley except he seems even less technically sound, not as flexible in the hip area, and he doesnt have good back pedal as Milliner did coming in.

Is he a take at this point with the other dbs that we seem to be well positioned with right now?

I dont know if he's a take or not. I might be one of the few on here who isn't that high on the kid. I never really have been. I was kind of surprised Bama and UGA offered him, although it does look like both have pretty much backed off him.
