'13 FL RB JoJo Kemp

there are just as many (actually more) True Freshmen impact RBs as there are Juco RBs.

its the one position where skills translate immediately at all levels.

So I4Jay...how do you feel about JoJo Kemp...is this a kid that could come in a have a big impact immediately?

true regarding not desperately needing an "immediate impact" at RB...but if you somehow pulled a stud freshman that had a year like some of the guys recently in the SEC...it could go a long way toward helping us get back to where we want to be...truth is that any RB is going to be pretty successful next year behind our OL

How does someone like an Alfred Morris get over looked by everyone during recruiting, does very well at a smaller college, gets over looked over the course of five and a half draft rounds, and then excels immediately in the NFL?

Shanahan's system.

see Terrell Davis, Mike Anderson, Olandis Gary, Clinton Portis, Rueben Droughns & Tatum Bell.

Looks like his son Kyle is following right along with him now. He looks like he'll be very successful on his own eventually.

"He said he is visiting Jan. 18 and that as of now it's between Kentucky, who he will visit Jan. 11, Tennessee, South Florida, where he will unofficially visit between now and signing day, West Virginia and Pitt, he's already visited both of those schools.

We'll have the full story later today."

What would your plan be???

Assuming we have only 2 spots for RB

I would take the 1st (2) backs that I thought could play here. Turman we lost out on making him wait. I would bet there are several others. Grayson is a back I think could play here. If I am a recruit and have multiple offers and you tell me to hold off while you see if you can land your "big fish", I am going somehwere else.

Just to clarify, your plan would be to take commitments from kids not named green or Kamara and tell those kids they no longer can choose us??

We know we need at least 1 RB who can contribute early here. Yes, I would take the 1st RB who wants to be a Vol and tell both Green and Kamara they have an offer, but I need an answer. I would not risk getting NO backs in hopes of landing the "big fish". This thinking is what has got us in this position as it is. If both DG and AK were not ready to give me an answer then I take the RB who is ready and we'll see how the class plays out. Maybe we take another back closer to NSD. If a Turman and a Blanchard wanted to commit, I take them and move on. This coaching staff can not hope a 1 month relationship is going to win out over many of these recruits who have been talking to other coaches for a year plus.

Your down to taking one instead of two.

In all seriousness there is no real good plan either way that has no risk. The game of stringing recruits along long enough to get word from higher recruits is huge to be able to win.
