'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

I wasn't talking about Bama being the ones disappointed....you are right, the fact that we need him more will leave our program a lot more disappointed when he chooses to play for the opposition.

When he chooses? Love how you Nega- Vols like to call your shot just to say I told you so in case things don't go our way.

Have you ever tried tackling a freight train??

watch his tape.. he isn't a "take 3 guys with him" powerback like Trent Richardson(5'9" 225lb)

He trys to run around everyone, which works for him in HS, but that won't fly in the SEC He would have to change his mindset to match-up with his body type or change positions. R.Neal went through this, but I think he now understands what he needs to do to make plays.

Have you tried tackling somebody in the waist? Not very hard when you are a 6-2 running back in the SEC. He could have all the upper body in the world, but you can't run without your legs. Until he can get low like the Ying Yang twins (no homo), He isn't going to make it at running back in the SEC.

Hope R.Neal turns into a mini Trent Richardson. He has the body frame.

Get low like the Ying Yang Twins. Wow...

This kid will be special. At any position. Im not sure RB is in the cards but maybe it is, either way he will be a stud. I personally think if he has any hands whatsoever he could be the next Vernon Davis.

I had this concern last year about Bourque, he runs very high, will get killed if its not corrected. Atleast its something that can be taught and corrected. Henry may get away with it a bit more to some degree, hes a monster, pictures do the kid no justice.

Really, that is one of the good things about Henry. If he comes in and cannot be a starter/major contributor at RB, he will still end up a great player at some position -- he is a freak athlete, especially for his size.

The only potential downside I see in him is that if our staff is pretty certain that he cannot make it as a RB (due to his height and vertical running style), by taking him he could cause another elite back that would otherwise want to come here (like D Green) to go elsewhere. It also is not a good thing to recruit a kid under false pretenses.

I will be fine with whatever the staff decides. I very much like D Green, but had thought he was sewed up by Michigan. It is interesting that Hubbs stated his opinion that it was a Mi. UT battle for Green -- that is pretty rare for Hubbs at this point in the process.
