'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

I believe there is a great difference between confident and cocky. I want UT football players to be confident in their talent and abilities. For example, I know many UT fans dislike Da'Rick and do not want him to be part of the football team because they think he is too cocky and a troublemaker. In reality, Da'Rick is just very confident in his skillset and plays with some attitude and intensity. I like to see that out of UT football players.

Da'Rick may be "drama queen" but he is the hardest working athlete on the team. When he gets on the field he doesn't mess around. If D.Henry comes to UT and puts up 1,500 and 15TD's then he can be a "drama queen like Da'rick too. But until then he should be a respectable man at what ever school he lands at. He has had back-to-back 2000 yard seasons so he is at the top of the mountain right now. As a recruit these days they have more freedom to act as they please and this leads to the many problems when athletes land on campuses and get kicked off like Crowell, Bryce Brown etc. I don't think Henry is a bad kid but a lot of recruits get over confident.

I wish some athletes cared as much about their academics as they do their athletics. True story.

Did you ever watch an interview with Al Wilson? Very, very confident in his talent level. One reporter asked Al where he would be in the depth chart at RB with Jamal Lewis and Travis Henry on the roster; (Al played LB/RB in hs) Al's response was one word "Starter"

Tennessee needs a team full of players with that winner attitude. Al hated losing. Therefore, winning was his only option. He carried the whole team from a leadership position.

Every great RB I can think of has been humble and took care of business on the field...Bo, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Hershel Walker...proven quiet confidence.

tomlinson was a great who never said anything either. was one of my favorites, sad to see him retire. hated his teams but definitely enjoyed watching him play. so what kind of player is this guy. hes got size similar to adrian peterson but i dont think hes quite the bruiser that he is. i cant think of many other guys his size. who would yall compare him too?

DR could have a very special season this year.

After watching this video I dont want him...way too cocky for a young kid and that usually spells trouble. Playing for UT is a once in a lifetime opportunity and privilege. I want a kid with heart and desire, not one that thinks hes doing us a favor by gracing us with his presence.

Football players should be cocky. Name me the good ones that aren't. I don't think there's a really good player without an ego.

I'm going to Dawg Night myself to committ. Don't know if I have an offer yet, but I hear that's what everyone is expected to do.

Jerry Rice and Reggie White were extremely humble. Your point is still valid though.

Jerry Rice blew up on more than one QB. I remember watching an NFL films show one time where Jerry came to the sideline telling Steve Young "I'm not a f##king decoy". He was a diva at WR. Rice would try on 3-5 pair of pants before the game to see which ones fit right. All good players have to believe in their talents.

Ya but he was always extremely nice and not a diva in interviews and off the field in general.

Reggie White would run right past tackles, put them on their ass all game, and tell them about it. Then he'd pray with them after the game.

That's the epitome of swag. Haha.

Not swag just a good player G. Just like Darrell Green. SWAGGER= Primetime or Chad Johnson before he became Ochocinco but that's for another thread.
