'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

That's a good point! The History Channel has become nothing but a bunch of "What If?" type shows, antique shows, and reality shows. Don't get me wrong, I like some of those programs a lot, but what happened to the History Channel I remember as a child back in the 90s? You know, the one that talked about Hitler and WWII all day long. haha!

But, yes, every 30 for 30 I've seen has been fairly well made at the very least. Some are more engaging than others depending on interests, but all have been fairly well-made.

My thoughts exactly!

That said, the Hatfields and McCoys mini series with Costner was damn good IMO.

It was an excellent documentary. They just did not really show how much the Colombian people loved Escobar, some consider him a saint 'til this day.

His type should be hung by their balls with piano wire and then beat like little baby harp seals.

Recap of Farrell's video interview with Henry:

Enjoys being back up at The Opening, gets to once again compete against top competition in his class.

Will make his decision after the season, in December.

Will take full advantage of his time, explore his options so he can make the right decision.

UGA is not out of his recruitment.

Looking at Bama, UGA, Tennessee, USC, and a team to be named later(maybe Oregon, Clemson, or Auburn).

From 1 to 100, he's considers himself having an 85% chance of ending up at Bama.

Doesn't want to commit now, doesn't want to rush into anything.

Says he has no pressure from Bama to commit now, wants him to take his time.

Says he needs to get lower and run with more power for a RB his size. Also said he can work on being a better receiver out of the backfield or in the slot.

Says he's interested in USC as they use to be THE runningback school, liked it out there too. Can't remember any names of the coaches recruiting him there.

Thinks UT is on the up and up, likes Coach Dooley and Coach Graham. Graham has pitched him about being an All-SEC Freshman like another RB he coached(Marcus Lattimore).

Rooming with Kelvin Taylor at The Opening.(Farrell asked if he was rooming with Tenpenny)

Farrell notes that he has seen Tenpenny and Henry hanging out a lot. Henry says that's his boy.

Has not problem going to a school with other backs committed, wants to compete. Appreciates the competition Tenpenny and other backs will bring to the table.

Not affected by the Crowell dismissal, although he was friends with him.

Says UGA will be fine with Marshall and Gurley at RB.

UGA isn't out but they are close. At this point I think it is us and Bama. I think it will be hard to land him but I trust graham, but it is possible

I am going to give my best assesment on his recruiting, and yes that means some UT fans might not like it and I am sure I will get blasted by some. But here we go.

Every team has their insiders like I am sure you guys do on VQ and VN. From that latest interview it goes with everything we have heard. As one UA fan has already come in here and stated that he already commited but yet Saban does not want him to go public. If you go not only to most UA sites but UGA sites they will say the same for the most part. What I have been told is he basically committed on his visit to UA in June. But that Saban told him to take his time and make sure. Just like he said today that Saban is not putting pressure on him. He already decommitted once and the UA staff does not want him to rush. Everyone of our paysites believe he is all UA and will end up at UA. Yes they are UA sites but if UT sites told you a kid was all UT would you go with it. But all our insiders say the same. But again he was told to make sure and take visits. Not that Saban does not want him but he wants him 100% with no doubts. Especially with recruiting dramas like R Foster.

Now I say this because I believe that UT has a legit shot. I also do not think it has anything to do with how the season goes. This kid wants to play and UT can show him he can early like they are selling him. He also believes that UT is coming back to where they once were and I think he is the type of kid that would love to be that player to help them do it. Just like Lattimore wants to for USC.

He will visit UT next week and take atleast an OV to UT. Even though UA is out front and at this point a likely destination, especially if he commits before the season starts, which he did say may still happen, UT is not that far behind. I can see Henry ending up at UT and believe they are the only other school that could land him besides UA. It is a UA/UT battle with UT getting every chance they need to sway him. The only thing that could put UT out of the race would be any chance of the coaches not there next fall.

Again this is my opinion with all the info out there so take it for what it is worth.

Pretty much heard the same thing about him commiting to UA. Graham is the catalyst though. If he can sell him on strictly being a RB, I think UT might snatch him.

Im sorry i must of missed something, what were we selling him on before?

He's 6'4 240 pounds...UA has talked about putting him on D, which he's clearly stated he doesn't want to do. I was saying although UA is his #1, if Graham can sell him on how good of a starting running back he can make him, I think we can get him.

UA has not been mentioned on any site or by Henry that we are trying to put him on D. At the UA camp he did train at TE/HB but never has D been mentioned. That is the recruitng guys that keep saying he should end up at D at any college. Henry has also stated even today that UA is only looking at him as a RB. UTs real advantage is no one is in front of him that could keep him off the field as a freshman.

That is what CJG is selling him and he is teling him the truth.

Read an article early in his recruitment stating they shown interest with him being on D. I'll try to find the link. Even if he signs to UA, there's no way he can't see action his freshman year. The other 2 RBs UA signed are no competition for Henry.

Since he started o look around in May he has stated multiple times that Saban is only recruiting him at RB. Maybe that was like last year when he commited to UGA and why he did not look at UA then. Not sure.

T Jones is a better RB than Tenpenny right now and AT is probably a better pure RB than Henry. IMO. Also remember AT though is just now getting back to full form. He missed last season because he broke his ankle. He may end up the top RB in the country this fall.

The other thing against UA that helps UT is we also have 2 5 star RB that will be a soph and RS soph when Henry would join the team.

Yeah, I think it was when he first commited to UGA because he wasn't sure what UA wanted to do with him at first.

Pure RB I think they're both better than Henry, but as a playmaker I gotta give it to DH. Hopefully Graham can snag this guy. I think he'll be a great addition and make an immediate impact.

Thanks, TW, for the good info and thoughts. I believe when he finishes camp in Knoxville in 2 weeks, he will know exactly where he is going to school. If he believes that CJG will be the best position coach for him to prepare him the best, then IMO he will be a Vol. If he doesn't get that exceptional feeling after camp, then he makes a public announcement to Bama. As TW said, the longer this goes without him making a public commitment, then the better it is for UT.

I wish Tee Martin was on this staff he is obviously an elite recruiter and a hell of a coach we found that out first hand against Kentucky where he coached QBs. He is coaching WR at USC I would love to have Grham at Rb Coach and Tee at WR Coach and moove Hinshaw back to QB. Hinshaw Grham and Tee would be sick offensive recruiters to go alond with Sal, and Ansley on defense. Next year maybe dooley will look to add Tee to the staff.

How did we see that firsthand against UK? Their offense isnt why we lost. We shut them down on O, but our offense sucked and cost us that game not UK's offense.
