'13 FL RB AJ Turman (UGA commit)

Soon after his visit. He's looking to make a commitment and FSU has given him mixed messages as to what they're going to do. This may be another guy we get by default.

Would happily take him by default and add one more from the list of others were looking at. Hoping Green, Hunter or Folsten(sp)

FSU is holding out for Alex Collins or a +1 like Karma if he wanted in. Alex Collins is camping next week and they expected to know something then. Turman may have waited himself out of their class.

So not true. Ingram won the Heisman and he wasnt a speed guy. Speed is nice but you need a RB that can follow his blocks and run your ass over. Not ones like we have had lately that go down on first contact and tacked by the Neyland turf. Give me a Trent Richardson type all day. He has good speed but never goes town on the first hit and is a beast.

I assume, your referencing neal, lane, etc. However, I asked if Turman is any different from Alden Hill? Going from film (i've watched tape on both) they appear very similar in running styles, which is a north/south power runner. I was wondering if he had game changing abilities like some of the other backs we are in on. No Bash here, I like Turman's running style especially if he has Trent Richardson's qualities like vision, power, change of direction, you mentioned.
Curious as to why FSU was all over this kid early on supposedly, and now all of a sudden he may commit to us if his visit goes well. I'm just asking the tough questions no one else wants to. I'm all for it if this kid is a Travis Henry sparkplug clone who can knock snot bubbles out of people. If its more of what we already have, then not seeing it. Anyone seen him play in person?

Actually i was referring to Poole. I like Lane alot and believe once he learns to trust his knee he will be a good RB for us. Neal has so much potential if he can ever learn to hold onto the ball. I am curious and anxious to see Smith, Hill and Borque on the field. Especially Borque and Hill. Honestly anyone is an improvement over Poole. We all see why he didnt touch the field under Kiffin. Lane and Gran knew what they had in him.

I think if he could add a little more change of direction to his game his stock would go way up. I love that he isn't scared of contact, but I don't know how effective that will be against 220-230 SEC LB's until he puts on 20-30 lbs. scout has him at 198 and Rivals has him at 205.

The comparisons to Gore, Richardson, and Ingram are crazy. They all are 5'9" and can make people miss and have great vision.

We grow our linebackers bigger than that in the SEC. 220 is the size of our safeties

I think Turman is a much better runner than Alden Hill. I don't see him anywhere near like Trent in any part of his game. To the other poster I called him a poor man's Gore because he makes certain runs you don't expect him to make. His deceptive speed is a lot like Gore. He'll be great in a power running game.

I think AJ Turman's tape is very similar to Marlin Lane which isn't bad but isn't the game changing every down SEC back we are looking for.

"I don't have any top schools really. I've been on about 10 visits and they have all been great visits," said Turman. "I'm visiting Florida State and Tennessee soon, but I do feel like I'll definitely take an official visit to Georgia in the fall. I want to decide after my senior season, but I feel like I'll take a visit to Georgia and maybe to Florida State and Tennessee too."

That life sized walking talking Hershel Walker dummy at Georgia's athletic complex is working wonders for them in recruiting isn't it. What's that?. It's no dummy and Hershel is running with prospects and thinking of making a comeback when he turns 75?! Say it ain't so. :)

We are still young and undersized for what we want. Give us a couple years... The word "our" refers was in the context of the sec, if you read my post. Have a look around the rest of the sec and tell me what you see.

I'm just giving you a hard time. instead of 220 - 230 I should have said 220 - 250 pound backers. It has nothing to do with "growing them in the SEC" it has everything to do with what your base D is. FSU runs a 4-3 and UT, UGA and BAMA run a 3-4. FSU's Defense is just as big as LSU and UF who both play out of a 4-3. FSU will stand up a 270 lb DE sometimes, but we don't all of sudden call them a linebacker...

These are the 1st string LB numbers from the SEC:
Totals:
200's - 2
210's - 2
220's - 13
230's - 14
240's - 10
250's - 2

Alabama has huge backers across the board...

For comparison, I'll list FSU also

Maggitt isn't 215, he's got a little more weight on him than that. I do wish you guys would send us a pass rusher or two up here Nole. We'll give you Worley. Lol

I like Worley. Did well for a true freshman last year, that is all. So I would not like to give him to any other team. :):whistling::salute:

Curt Maggitt is 6'3" 227 and Herman Lathers is 6' 225 I took that info from the link you posted. Should we discredit all of the info you posted as false?
