13 FL QB Asiantii Woulard

I know what he was ranked. He earned Gatorade Player of the Year for on field performance. My point is that SS came across like he was dissing our QBs to get his point across. I also believe in my heart that the recruiting services KNOW they undervalued Worley's ability but wouldn't swallow their pride and give him the bump. And while Spurrier did not offer, UF, FSU, Tennessee, LSU, ND, and Stanford did. So we could compare stars or offers...I'm going with offers.

Again, I'm very well aware of Peterman and his potential. But dude was touting AW's top billing as a DT QB, which I'm convinced a large part was a result of good camp performances. JMO. While Worley's accolades came from on field performance. I need more coffee and I feel like I'm rambling. But I just take offense when dude acts like our current QBs and recruits are chopped liver.

JMO, but offers from MAJOR SEC PROGRAMS > more stars with no SEC OFFERS. But hey that's just me.

Coach's miss out on guys all the time, especially at the QB position. Hell Bray didnt have any SEC offers either. But still Spurrier never offered Worley for some reason and he's in his back yard. And as people point out regularly on players how many of those offers were committable? Not knockong Worley at all, he's a kid and all Vol. But just a point I am trying to make. And honestly so far from what I have seen of Worley I can see why Spurrier didnt offer. Really think Peterman wins the job. Who knows if he does if Worley will transfer. If he does then we got problems only having 2 scolly QB's. So that definitely has to weigh on Jones as if to offer 2 QB's this class or take a chance and hope no one transfers

My opinion on why we should have passed on AW is because his on the field play was questionable at best. For whatever reason AW and his people did not think he needed to actually earn any offers. They chose to not go to ANY schools camps and compete for an offer. His whole recruitment is based off the elite 11 camp. I have seen alot of kids who can throw a football well in shorts and a T shirt. Get them on the field in pads and a pass rush and its a whole different story. SS on here swears AW does not shy away from any competition. It sure seems like he does to me when he did not think going to a camp to earn an offer was a good idea.

Dont all these camps cost a good bit of money? I dont know his financial situation but maybe he wanted to go to camps but didnt have the money or resources to go? Like I said I dont know either way but have heard of kids not going to camps because they dont have the money to pay and go or dont a way of getting there. Hs stats dont mean everything either. He could have no talent around him. Maybe his Oline sucked, or maybe he had receivers who couldnt get open or make catches. If he had no help around him then he could be the main focus and that would effect his stats.. Again I am not saying he is the next Manziel, he could be the next Brent Schaeffer and end up at WR or just plain suck. But I trust the coach's either way they go.

I think Worley is going to surprise some people this year. Worley has not had much of a chance here at UT yet. Worley was thrown into the fire against some of the best teams in the SEC as a FR. I will note that Bray was worked in as a FR when the easier part of the schedule was starting. Worley did very well against a scrub team(MTSU) much the same way Bray did to scrub teams. Worely has not got to play VS better teams this year. When he did get in, I think he actually looked better than Bray did until CP ran the wrong route. If Worley is named the #1 guy, I think we will be surprised at how well he does. I rememeber watching his film VS Clowneys team and just smashing them. Worely is a kid who will fight and compete. We'll see how it plays out.

I see what your saying and I think Peterman will definitely be the better QB and starter this yr. I honestly dont think we should offer AW but people keep dissing this kid and taking shots at him for no reason. He's a kid and everyone is taking what SS is saying and bashing the kid and saying he sucks just because of some Adults post.

I never slammed or stated that AW sucks. And I COMPLETELY AGREE with your assessment of Peterman. In fact, throwing Peterman into the equation actually solidifies my stance even more.

My comment to SS was due to

1) him being a complete ass on a Tennessee site.
2) him insinuating that we don't have anything that can compare to AW and his "top billing" as a DT QB. And that we're crazy for not taking him.

That's why I brought up Worley, simply due to his accolades and SEC offers which IMO trump a higher Rivals ranking with NO MAJOR SEC OFFERS. Throw Peterman into the equation and that solidifies UT's position with QBs even more. RF is a baller as well IMO. So we're in damn good shape at QB.

Again, not comparing the QBs we have against one another, just throwing out that we DO have highly acclaimed QBs. Which IMO is the exact opposite of what SS was insinuating.

I'm thinking maybe Spurrier didn't offer because he had Connor Shaw and Dylan Thompson as RS fr. Or maybe he just didnt like Worley's game, who knows. Jim Haurbaugh wanted him. As did several top SEC schools. We don't know why Spurrier didn't offer, but I'm betting it was a depth chart thing. Kinda like us passing on Chad Pennington because we were loaded at QB. Plus it's WIDELY KNOWN since his recruitment that Spurrier has always thought Conner Shaw was the next coming of Jesus Christ.

Looking at USCe's class in 2011, they did not take any QBs. Martay Mattox was listed as a QB, but was going to be playing another position in college. I would guess Worley did not have an offer as they were not taking a QB.

so Jesus also had a wet noodle for an arm and couldn't throw it over 20 yards?

Not sure what you are getting at. But it's been stated a gazillion times how Spurrier has always felt Shaw had the potential to be one of the best he's ever had. I myself question that. Personally I think Dylan Thompson is better. But I have no bearing on who Spurrier plays, recruits, or how he views the talent /potential level of his players.

You probably are right about Spurrier. But Pennington was only a 2* according to Rivals. Just more proof recruiting is far from an exact science. Worley has widely been considered a system QB as well. No matter who wins the QB job I believe any of the 3 will carry themselves much better on and off the field. And believe they will be much more mature and better leaders. One of Peterman's many assets coming into college along with his passing and talent was his toughness, maturity and leadership. Dont believe CBJ will be getting many late night calls about his QB throwing bottles or anything similar. And I go so annoyed watching Bray's antics on the field, from the Gator chomp mocking and the worst imo was the stare down of Vandy's bench after throwing a TD pass. Then responding by having a $hitty game, then pouting when he was benched and instead of rising to the occasion he showed his lack of mental toughness and played even worse when he came back in. So honestly I am glad he's gone. Hope somehow CP could find a way to come back but I honestly wont miss Hunter or Bray, especially Bray.

Dual Threat QB 4 star and we haven't offered and we are on his list. Do we think he don't fit Butch's plans

long story short we are passing on him along with all other SEC teams except Kentucky because he suffered a pretty bad ankle injury this season. he has only been play QB for 2 years and the staff is more comfortable with Riley Furguson

After coming back to this thread, against my gut felling, I am now even more certain SS is a troll. Scrolling throught the pages one can see him drop a turd or two and then sit back and watch our fans argue with each other. I for one am not buying what he is selling, and if he really is AW's dad then I feell sooo sorry for that young man. And as far as helieving what u read? Ha, he's stated more than once that he's gone and then looky here, back to drop another turd on VN.

What's with the hate-fest in this thread? Go kick some rocks.

Thats kinda my point VoN. I made an observation of all this hate goin on here and it stems from SS's posts. We are aguing with each other instead of having "football dialog". Not tryin to start anything with u but that was my first post in this whole fiasco of a thread and u quote ME for your hate fest comment. Maybe cuz it was just the latest one u read, idk, but like I said still no beef with u. Just time for thread to go maybe.

I'm just in a "wait and see" mode. I'd like to see him get an offer (so we have 2 QB's in this class), but I don't know what the staff thinks of him or if they are even considering a 2nd QB. Maybe they think he's a project and would rather wait until the 2014 class to bring a 4th guy in.

If Peterman overtakes Worley in the Spring, there is a very good chance Worley transfers. We will be in a world of hurt if that occurs.

UPDATE: Florida may be set to enter the mix for the nation's No. 1 dual-threat quarterback, Asiantii Woulard (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park).

"With Jacoby Brissett transferring, it looks like UF has renewed interest in Asiantii Woulard. Gators could be team to beat if they offer," Zach Abolverdi of the Gainesville Sun tweeted.

Florida already has a verbal commitment from ESPN 300 quarterback Max Staver (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood Academy). Woulard is likely a higher priority at the moment, and Staver could reconsider his decision if Woulard eventually picks the Gators. North Carolina State, South Florida and Kentucky are the three teams Woulard has shown the most interest in the past month.

UPDATE:Tennessee no longer appears to be an option for the nation's No. 1 dual-threat quarterback, Asiantii Woulard.

"Woulard also said the commitment of (fellow quarterback recruit Michael) White would not make any difference in his ultimate decision, which right now looks to be between USF and NC State," Chris Hays of the Orlando Sentinel wrote.

South Florida head coach Willie Taggart has really sold the Bulls to Woulard over the past week. Woulard's heart is already with South Florida after initially committing to the Bulls. Taggart simply has to sell himself as the new head coach, and it appears he's done a good job doing so with the quarterback recruit.

"He's a really cool guy. I liked him a lot," Woulard told Hays. "We just hung out pretty much. We talked a little bit about me going [to USF], but after that we just really more like hung out. I actually liked him a lot."

Considering Clemson, UCLA, UF, and UK still pretty solid on one as many teams get more aggressive this could change especially if UT gets in the mix Pease and Phillips visited in home this morning
