One thing that we have learned about Dooley and that he is a premier talent evaluator. He got in on so many guys early the last two years before anyone else got in on many kids, only to see the other major programs jump in later during the process. So no need to worry about who else has offered him. Before it is all over, he will have a long list of offers.

Just watched this kid's film. He is a real baller!

The kid fires out low and gets great pad leverage.

Is he going to play inside linebacker or jack LB? I'd venture to say he will be an inside LB.

Just watched as well.. He can shed a block, good motor, stays with the play. Plays with a lot of heart.

Definitely looks to be an underrated linebacker. What I like most about him is that he plays tough competition and is aiming to be an EE.

Can we generate a thread for this kid to rivals the fat kid Santos?

It has been reported that Zanca enjoys eating baby gators for breakfast. Adult gators for afternoon snack.

He played out of position last year. Learning to shed blocks is a great skill and this guy has it.
I am like Breakerboy and would love to see how his senior year goes playing LB.

I will withhold my personal judgement on him but obviously, the staff sees something early that they like and Dooley isn't in a position to waste schollys.

Gotta be better than Chris Donald.

I was saying this is a huge pickup for you guys at an already stacked part of your roster.

You have a great LB corps.

Glad the staff had the foresight to offer Mr. Zanca early rather than let the process linger on. Really don't see the downside of accepting a commit like this. Zanca is roughly 6'2/6'3 and weighs around 230 lbs. He has played a variety of positions, plays hard, and is only 16. The way I see it. It's a win/win situation. If he continues to grow, he fills needs along the defensive line. If he doesn't continue to grow, he's a heady hard-nosed ILB.

Exactly. Guys like this fill out a class very nicely and have the potential to be much more than just filler and depth. If he continues to progress the way he did from his soph - jr year watch out.

This will be Dooley's best recruiting class by leaps and bounds. We're in so much better shape with elite prospects than at any time during Dooley's tenure. The new staff are better recruiters than the previous staff.

He has to win tho.

Because when it gets close to signing day, if we're sitting on 6 wins again, we will lose a few guys to more negative recruiting.

I agree. Barring key injuries, we will win.

No doubt. If we get 9+ wins this fall the 2013 and 2014 classes are going to be elite.
