Playing a few isn't a bad thing. Having them all over the field is when there's growing pains. Bama and LSU play a lot of freshmen. You've just got to have experience surrounding them. Vereen playing with two three year starters(Aj and Maggitt) wouldn't be a bad thing.

I completely agree with playing a few here and there. I'm just glad we are starting to see a majority of the starters aren't freshman.

I may be reading this wrong but AJ and Curt are freshman. So he'd be surrounded by two one year starters.

No offense to you or Corey. I like Corey's film a lot and am very glad he is a Vol, but damn I'm sick of seeing freshman on the field.

The more freshmen we see on the field after this years means we are recruiting much better players. Therefore, I will not mind seeing a few freshmen playing each year.

underrated like a mofo dude is legit imo and i actually mean damn near if not levenberry legit that cat a lil overrated imo

great pick up vols :salute:

Freshman in the two deep is a good thing. Experience.

That's how the good schools do it. Sunseri, Depriest, and a few others played for Bama last year. Anthony Johnson, Ego Ferguson, Honey Badger, Odell Beckham Jr., The big back(name slips my mind), and a few others played for LSU over the past couple of years. That's how you reload and don't rebuild.

Everyone should check out the article volunteerlane posted. Vereen sounds like a standup guy and the type of person I'm excited to have on our team. I really hope we can hang onto him. He sounds firm but there's a lot of time between now and December.

he could be 1 that blows up offer list wise kid was pretty under the radar outside central fla

Wow, this kid sounds awesome. Not worried about his offer list blowing up. This kid is going to stand by his commitment.

I agree. It also says alot about our staff's abilities as talent evaluators that we are in on alot of these "hidden gem" type kids early, and that they end up blowing up once other schools evaluate them. I think he will stick and will be a valuable contributor as a Jack linebacker in Coach Sal's scheme.

We are recruiting A LOT of "JACK" LB's.

We have told Herron, Hatcher, Rochelle, Vereen, Mustafaa, & Lawson that we want them as a JACK.

This is straight Saban style recruiting. Overload the position and let the chips fall where they may. If you look at our LBs we've only got two good ones. Sunseri knows this and that's why he put Maggitt and Aj next to each other. You've got to pick who to double team and who to single block. And if McCullers does what he's supposed to do(take up blocks) those two will be nasty.

SN: AJ looks like Brandon Spikes now body wise. Really ready to see what he does this year.

It's not like we've run the 3-4 or Sal's 'multiplicity' defense for years and have a pantry full of people capable of playing the position.

I like this kid. He's got a good head on his shoulders and he is a terror on the field. Vereen and Herron would be nice at the Jack position.
