Tampa (Fla.) Wharton cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III injured his ankle in the shuttle on Friday and was on crutches all day after that. But there was some hope that he would test it out Saturday or Sunday, especially when he wasn't limping noticeable either day. However, he was never able to suit up for either day of 7-on-7 other than to snap center for his team. His tweet that he was the most athletic center in the country was a good one, but it would have been great to see him out there battling Kendall Fuller for the No. 1 cornerback position.

I haven't kept up closely on recruiting except for the last couple years, but I'd wager that if things keep going for USC the way they have, they're likely to finish with the best sub-20 man recruiting class in history, or at least one of them.

So, the interesting thing about all of this is if VHIII did pull the trigger and commit to USC, where does that leave Ramsey on their board? This is all getting very interesting with Ramsey's commitment coming on Monday.

ramsey is suposed to commit soon right? VH3 isnt gonna for awhile imo

Yeah, he's committing Monday...all the noise about VHIII was making me think that he might pull the trigger in the next couple of days before Monday, which is why I asked the question. I just don't see USC pulling all of these stud DBs, but I'm sure that baby avi is wrong again with this thought process.

quit harshing and being negative on the Baby Avi. I am sure she would not approve. :)

On a side note, my 7 year old daughter just told me she is going to go to Tennessee! :fireworks:

Question to all:

With Ramsey committing to the Rubbers, if we were to somehow land VH3, is he a suitable substitute for JR, even though Ramsey's from TN??

At CB, equal replacements would be VHIII, Mack Alexander, or Kendall Fuller. Chances at getting any one of those three are very slim.

This. Unfortunately, we are playing catch up with a lot of the top CB's. It's early though and we always get ours in the end. Not to mention we always seem to steal a couple from other programs.

We need VH3 or fuller or someone to get caught up in a bonner-type fiasco then fall into our laps last minute.

Maybe we can send someone on a visit and plant the evidence in their bag Joseph-Benjamin style. Yep just pulled out a Bible reference.

I want Mack. Alexander for the Ramsey replacement. He's the best out of that group to me. But I wouldn't turn my nose up at VHIII.

Ha! Congrats on your daughter wanting to be a VFL so early. I am hoping my little girl will wear the orange and white too.

"Vernon will be leaving next week to see Alabama, Notre Dame, Tennessee and once he does those visits then he is going to narrow down the five that he will make officials to," his mother said. "We don't want to leave any stones unturned. We want Vernon to see it all."
