'13 FL CB Vernon Hargreaves III (FL Commit)

come on dude have more pride than that... LOL @ the fake punt being the only reason UF won. UT lost those games because you rushed for 29 yards and -11 in '10/'11. UT was also 5 for 26 on 3rd downs in those games. Not even talking about your ST. IF your running game doesn't improve you won't beat many SEC teams.

I may have went a wee bit 'homer', but Florida is not scary anymore. Yall got beat by the real teams (Bama LSU) just like we did. We just were missing our best player during the conference season. And our Qb half the year and in a rivalry game noless. I think we had a shot to win the last two games. We were not dominated at all. We can win this year. We can pound yall this year if things go right early. -- Who is the Qb, rb, and wideout corps? Is there any all SEC talent in the two deep? Any all freshman team potential there? Not impressed. Certainly not scared. Maybe over confident. Honest all day.

You're comparing a possession receiver who was consistently double teamed and his QB was consistently blitzed because we had no running game and absolutely no other threat at WR... To a guy who had a Heisman contending running back and actual threats along with him at WR. Let's compare their stats this year. Rogers junior stats to Jeffery's junior stats.

Rogers wasn't constantly double teamed, he was hardly ever double teamed. Teams aren't going to blitz and double team Rogers at the same time.

Rogers had the same type of talent at reciever around him as Jefferey did this year. Its not like USCjr is loaded at reciever or anything. If Lattimore was on the vols, Rogers wouldn't suddenly have had amazing games against Bama, LSU, or UGA.

We aren't comparing next year, we are comparing last year. Last year, Rogers was a mid-major killer. He didn't show up against good opponents. Rogers has a good chance of being better than Jeffery but he wasn't last year.

He dominated a Heisman finalist DB and had 106 yards rec against Arkansas. Ace Sanders was better than any other WR we had on our roster last year besides Rogers. Who was UT's other WR option after Hunter went down?

Florida doubled him, Georgia ran a triangle on him, Bama doubled him, LSU and SCAR had a safety shading his side too. Don't go there because if you watch the film against a lot of teams Rogers was open but our QBs outside of Bray weren't hitting him. Also he punished the Thorpe Award semifinalist Vandy had at CB.

He did not dominate Honey Badger. That one play everyone talks about, LSU was in zone. Arkansas had arguably the worst defense in the SEC. Thats really not that impressive.

Rivera and Arnett are better options than 5'7 Ace Sanders.

What are you basing that Arnett is a better option? Obviously not stats, production and plain common sense. I didn't know Rivera was a WR. Rivera's not going to stretch the field anyway. And yes, if you put Lattimore in UT's backfield, Rogers would have been a first team AA.

Good teams would put one corner on Rogers. I don't know why everyone thinks he was doubled and tripled team because he wasn't. Rogers was the only person Simms and Worley looked for. Their passes weren't that bad. One of the biggest complaints on them was that Rogers was the only receiver they tried to throw to. Other receivers were upset about that, specifically Arnett.

He did play good against Heyward, but Vandy isn't an elite team by any means.

The UGA game Rogers caught a ball from Bray where he had a CB on him, LB playing the inside, and a safety over the top. He still got open and caught the ball. Arnett can be upset he's not a big loss. He was a little 5-15 yard WR at the most.

Is Rivera not a receiving option? Is his main strength not receiving? It doesn't matter than he isn't going to stretch the field, he is still a solid option in the passing game.

Arnett came in and played great with what he had to work with. Our offense was get the ball in Rogers hands when Hunter went down.

It wouldn't have mattered who was over there if we are talking about the same play. That player would have gotten the same type of coverage that play as Rogers did.

Arnett wasn't going to take over a game like Hunter, but he could have been really nice possession receiver for UT. IMO a better Gerald Jones.

Okay guy, you really think that was just a coverage call when they were running that coverage all game on #21. Why do you think Bray was forced to go another way with the ball. And Arnett wasn't getting open in that game. I looked for him and UGA's Cbs were having their way with him.

UGA played zone for much of that game, at least from what I remember. Im sure there were certain plays that put focus solely on Rogers, but I do not believe he was completely shadowed by UGA players. Rivera had a great game because of Bray finding Rivera in the open zones.

Im not saying Arnett is the next big thing or he was a great receiver last year, but neither was Ace Sanders.

We have hijacked this thread so lets just agree to disagree.

Alshon Jeffrey was a huge factor for d coordinators last year. It doesn't matter if his stats weren't there, his presence alone was huge. D coordinators gave Alshon respect.

LSU has the best depth in college football when it comes to running the ball, they could handle it. You can't forget about Reuben Randle and Odell Beckham, both were very good recievers.

Both of those teams had an x factor that didn't allow them to blitz like crazy like they did against UT. Rogers is a great reciever, but he couldn't stretch the field and good corners locked him down.

UF wasnt that good at rushing the ball last year except for when they played UT. They ranked 73rd in rushing.

You really need to appreciate the talent we have in Rogers. He is special and was better than Alshon last year.
