'13 AL RB Johnathan Ford (no longer a Vandy commit)

Vollygirl I'm proud of you for getting prettied up, and Ima let you finish, but landing the #1 RB in the nation woulda been the best feeling of all time!

I know. I wanted him to wanna come here. It feels like we lost something. And I don't like to lose.

Exactly! This whole Ford was our #1 choice over Green is ridiculous!Even tho Jones hasn't been here long to establish a "relationship",graham has.A little dissapointed graham couldn't close the deal.Is there any evidence that uzzi is Ritzmann?

If DD hadn't screwed up so bad here Green would have been wearing orange today. I saw a report and ill try to find it for you where CJG talked about Green loving UT and everything but didn't like the uncertainty of DD and the drama with a coaching change. In the end that was the difference.

You understand that the only mistake Dooley made in recruiting Green was being fired, yes? So how, in your opinion, did he screw us in this particular matter?

I hope Green's decision is something Ford was waiting for, now he knows he is the one. We need to wrap this one up. Go Butch! Go Jay! GBO

We gotta move on guys!
Ford is a great back and would be a huge asset!
This is his thread and we need this young man.

Think before you type....these young men read their threads at the universities of interest.
We need him to understand that we want and need him at UT!

Wish Skeeter would pop in here and give us a thumbs up or thumbs down...sure do miss his little golden nuggets this time of the year.

I'm sure it made him feel really special to see a Knox area code on caller ID seconds after Green picked Michigan. Ford already has major, commitable offers. I doubt he was waiting for Green to make up his mind.

I agree! He's a dang good back and any program would be fortunate to grab him. Hope he ends up in orange!
Butch bring this boy home!

You're telling me the coaches think someone is better than the almighty 5* #1 RB in the country! Blasphemy! Rivals knows all!

Someone else mentioned it last night. It's not so much the coaches had Ford #1 over Green saying he was the better back. More that they had a better chance of landing him than Green. Calling him their #1 then, would make sense.

Kind of like how the UGA coaches told Bellamy they think he is the best OLB in the nation. Put aside the guy that is already committed to them who is rated 20 spots higher at OLB. "From who is left, he is the best in the nation". :p

Green and Ford bring two skill sets to the field. Green is the straight ahead power, while Ford brings more speed, wiggle in his gait, and elusiveness. We need a power back and a home run back.

he said CJG was feeling good about Green. maybe it would benefit him more to keep up with VN.

Skeeter is throwing nothing but guesses at this point. He isn't in the know anymore. I'm sure he will get one right and everybody will crown him again but right now he isn't getting the same info as before.

The second he decided he was not a VFL, he became a giant douche, and he sucks...imo.

Nobody said that, quit just saying $hithe to say it. Green and Ford are the top 2 backs I wanted and in that order, was Green and Kamara, but obviously we got neither. Ford, Barber, Grayson, Turner are great options as well.

Exactly. People keep talking like it was one or the other. Staff would have taken both.

Johnathan Ford just left Auburn, he didn't have much to say, but when asked what Auburn's standing was, he said they are looking good, but didn't want to elaborate.

From AU Rivals -

New Hope (Ala.) Rivals250 running back Johnathan Ford is committed to Vanderbilt, but that didn't stop him from taking an official visit to Auburn this weekend.

"My visit went good, it was a great experience to meet Coach (Gus) Malzahn and the staff. It felt real good," Ford said.

Ford spent time with Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee and receivers coach/co-offensive coordinator Dameyune Craig. The style offense and matching Ford's style was discussed.

"It was great. We talked about the offense and they laid everything out for me," Ford said.

Ford was originally scheduled to visit Miss. State this weekend, but trekked to the Plains instead. Ford, the Commodores pledge, was hesitant in his response to describe where the Tigers stood following the visit.

"Auburn is real good," Ford said. "That's all I'm going to say. I'm still committed though."

Ford will return home and talk with his parents to discuss his next move.
