I'd say UT's chances with Kirven are pretty good. VT has been and is the favorite.
However Kirven has visited UT 3 times now and twice in the last week or so. It looks like there is mutual interest.
This is is great news. Just him visiting that many times in just a short time says a lot. This one would be a surprise to me if we get him because I thought we were out of it. This would definitely be a huge as far as shoring up our depth problem at that position. Great effort by our staff !! :salute::salute:

There is at least one report that Kirven did not show this weekend.Does anyone know for sure one way or other that he visited or not ???
I love the new coaching staff. They handle themselves well. Coach (Peter) Sirmon is a great guy, so is coach (Derek) Dooley. I talked to coach (Lance) Thompson a couple of times and he's a good guy. The facilities are top-notch. They look like they're whipping the players into shape with the conditioning. They're looking fit and stuff like that," Kirven said. "Academically, it looks like a good school and I need to look more into that and degrees and stuff like that. Other than that, it's a great school.
A football team that's trying to win or trying to come up; relationships with the coaches; positive influence on players and stuff like that. Nice facilities and good academics," Kirven said of what he's looking for in a school.
