3. Dalton will never start at Texas (even though all of the Texas players suck) and the few snap he does get will be at DE or Kicker or H-back.

Because of the insufferable arrogance of Texas fans, our hatred for you and your school has run deep for many years (about 40 years in my case).

That has nothing to do with Santos. I wish him luck at Texas. It's just that his skills at LB are better suited to the SEC than the pass-happy Big Nine.

It is usually ugly when parents restrict a kid or manipulate them in this process. The parent needs to approve for sure but not dictate. Sadly for Dalton, this sounds somewhat similar to Bryce Brown's situation. I sincerely hope it isn't and turns out better.

Actually my hatred has less to do with being a Vol, and more to do with the area of Texas I lived in during my teen years. More people in the northern panhandle hate Texas, than like them. I was counted among the texsucks haters way before I found out my blood was real UT orange.

I honestly dont see why he picked Texas. Texas already has 3 LBS in the his class not including him. I would be shocked if he saw the field regularly while in Texas.

Hey, look at it this way. Say you grew up a huge Vol fan, and your family lived near Knoxville. You are offered by a bunch of good schools outside of TN and commit to one. A couple weeks before NSD, UT comes calling. You've always wanted to be a Vol. Your family would prefer you not only be a Vol, but be close to them. That way they can come see all your games, etc. Can't fault the kid. It's not like Randall Cobb still sticking with UK just up the road, when UT offered. Texas is a heck of a haul from Knoxville.

And the kids in Texas are just different. It's what they are supposed to do. If you live in tx and are pretty good at football then you are supposed to go to tx. Daddys only want to see their sons play for the horns. Everytime I read anything about this family the only thing I can think of is Varsity Blues. This thread should not be on our site anymore and we should just forget about him.

There will be some highly ranked LBs in Texas' recruiting future that will fit Texas' defense better than Santos, and they will be promised playing time right away.

I still think we have a chance with him. He was committed to us for far too long to just blow us off. I think he fell in love with the idea of his hometown team, but reality may kick in and if our coaches still stay in contact, he could switch back. I would love to have him, but not gonna hate on a kid if his dream team came knocking and he went that way, which it looks like he is.

We aren't allowed to talk to him again before NSD. Once he signs, it's over.
