'12 TX LB Dalton Santos (Texas Commit)

Best of Luck Mr Santos. Would have been great to have you played for the Vols. Closer to home, grew up a Texas fan, you made the decision you thought best for YOU.

Hope we can get in late on another good LB. I see alot of people talking about how we should just take another WR if the spot opened up. That just does not make alot of sense to me. If you lose a LB who was going to play pretty early, it makes sense to go after a LB and not a 10th WR.

Being closer to home and family probably won out in the end...was hoping for his leadership on the defense....hes the one man I wanted to land...least he let us know early so we can press with plan B to fill the class

I hate that he switched, but I think we all saw this coming. When I got word earlier about how much he enjoyed his visit this weekend I basically knew it was over. It's a shame because I do think he'll regret this decision.

Please feel free to give us updates on him even though he is not committed to Tennessee any more..I left you another post earlier in this thread(right after it was official) and it contained a message for Dalton..did u happen to see it??

I think he will regret it too,but we will see.:ermm:

Big loss. This one is on Dooley. Dead man walking imo.

Santos went from one sinking ship to another. Sucks for him. Wish nothing but the best for him and his family tho. Hopefully Peters stays on board. The next staff will have a loaded LB core!

Go Vols!

How is this on Dooley???

I hope he does regret it and I hope Dooley says thanks but no thanks if he comes crawling back after he realizes a run stopping MLB isnt a valuable position against the pass.

Committ to us this whole time and Texas just needs someone to fill their board and they steal him away lol. Whatever. Good luck playing in a weak conference and not starting till ur JR/SR year.. lol

Time to move on. This actually just proves that you cant trust these kids and their commitments. Parents dont teach kids values anymore which is sad. And dont come on here and tell me that it was his dream school and all that. The kid gave a commitment to UTK and he kept it until he was offered late...VERY LATE in the game due to his "Favorite" team getting burned by some other kids. How about lets move on and get a kid that wants to truly be a VFL and kick this thread to the end of the line. See ya fat boy!

:wavey:

I wanna play in the SEC my ass!

Hilarious. What about all those times a recruit has switched from another school and came to UT?? I am sure you had a huge problem with it and didnt want to accept their commitment, them being all un-loyal to their previous school and all.

Everyone is truly entitled to their opinion, however, comments like this just proves that a large percentage of fans are absolutely clueless to how the sport and recruiting in general works.

How did an LB with questionable speed and who wasn't all that highly ranked by respectable services become the second coming. It boggles my mind that many here believed he would be an impact player from Day 1. To me, the hype quickly outgrew any kind of reasonable expectations.

Most likely, UT has lost a quality depth player, nothing more or less.

Nonsense. Plenty to blame Dooley for but this is not one of them. You don't have to make stupid reaches like this to believe that Dooley can't coach. He has recruited well. Give credit where it's due.

You have to make reaches to say he can't coach... just not this stupid.

We will all have a really good idea if he can coach after this fall. For the first time, he will have a roster that should be capable of winning some significant games.

Actually he was an Okie State commit before he commited to Tennessee. That dude changed more partners than one of those hookers from The Real World.

[I don't normally give 2 farts about any SEC team but I'll be rooting passionately for the Vols every time you kick A&M's ****ing teeth in.....[/QUOTE]

I have never cared anything about Texas but I will be rooting for Dalton...Texas took a good one from us...If I could be so blunt as to ask....will you take UT's#1Fan also? :)

Maybe. But with his attitude he could also have been a beast. We'll find out in a 2-3 years how big of a loss this was.
