'12 TX LB Dalton Santos (Texas Commit)

no reason to believe that except that it came from his mouth

if he was so concerned with the condition of UT football why commit in the first place? You obviously have no clue about Texas players and the draw to UTx

And the visit to Arkansas was just for fun, right? Kid was shopping around long before the Texas offer. He would have visited UGA if it weren't for the Texas offer. But whatever makes you feel better.

That was the one. I knew he didn't say he wouldn't be a Vol but still. Tall order is enough for most people to say he'll be a Horn. Or so you'd think.

I would describe my opinion on this as a rollercoaster b/c I have been so up and down..One day, I would feel good about him staying committed, and then the other, not so good..I'll just be glad when we know for sure.:blink:

I'm not giving up on him though b/c most of the time your "heart" wins out and his "heart" is with the Vols.

LB isn't a huge need, so I won't cry if he goes to the school he's always loved. As long as we are able to fill his spot, I'll get over it. I'd love to see us get in with the Lambert kid from Rutgers though. Not sure how much a factor Sunseri was in his recruitment at Alabama, but he'd be a nice consolation prize if Santos doesn't work out.

What is the evidence for these claims? This is message board fluff that is being dreamed up. Publicly, Dalton has done nothing but speak positively about Texas. There is a photo in this thread of him throwing up the Hook'em Horns just yesterday.

Texas was chasing Mario Edwards & DGB and had a WR decommit because he was pissed Texas was recruiting DGB.

I don't think it's that common but Bray's family did it, didn't they?

I doesn't happen much and it shouldn't. Parents need to let their kids go. Its part of growing up. Shame on the Santos family if them moving has anything to do with this decision.

Texas balance of power in the next 3-4 years

1) Texas A&M

2) TCU

3) Baylor

4) Texas

Come on... we're on a "texas is awesome" kick right now and that's why we're losing Santos to them... this does not help make lemonade out of lemons my friend. (although i would argue it's TCU, Baylor, Texas A&M and then Texas)

That was his position BEFORE he got an offer from Texas. We see changes like this all the time in all different walks of life. It is just the way the world works. Texas has been on the losing end of situations just like this while trying to reel in a lot of OOS kids over the last 5 years.

his views have not changed any about the big whatever conf and the SEC.....The Tx offer did not change that at all....It is what it is.....He sees it.....and knows where he needs and wants to be in the SEC.......

Again I will state he will be wasted at TX.....

By that logic, it's a knock on Saban that Jacquez Smith didn't even want him to visit and stick with his commitment Tennessee.

What? Noooo, it would be a knock on Saban is Smith was from Alabama and a Tennessee commit and didn't want Saban to visit... Last I checked Smith was from Tennessee.... Life is hard for you I bet.

He threw it up for a picture with CMB. What was he supposed to do? SMH.

Exactly? What's he gonna do in that picture, exactly? Give cmb bunny ears? Dear god. As I said before, we may lose him... but it doesn't have a thing to do with him doing hook em horns in a hallway.

:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

or he could have done this:

:the_finger:behind cmb's back.

Sorry..too much caffeine today:blink:

I would not go just because they came late and I was sloppy seconds. I most importantly wouldn't want my child done that way.

So if your son lets say had committed to Va Tech but had been a life long Vols fan. Then Tennessee offered a week prior to NSD you'd tell him to to still go to Va Tech???

I highly doubt any of us would do that, an opportunity to play at your dream school.....yea, you take it.

I would tell him to make his own decision, but remind him that Va Tech wanted him more. Offering a week before NSD screams "you're Plan B" to the school offering.

Yep. It's just like when a recruit that visits UT gets his picture taken in a UT jersey. Doesn't mean he is all vol.

My kid would take the UT offer. End of story.

You would tell them that you would support their decision and you would offer your opinion objectively to recommend what is best for them not what is best for you.

If Dalton goes to Texas because his Dad pushed it on him and does not succeed or get to the NFL and is a waste of talent at TX. Then who is responsible for that stupid decision......Dad or Dalton? If Dalton makes the decision TX or TN without the pushing and with the Support of his father then fine.....

If Dad is bias and the influence is there by the way he supposely treated the UT coaches then he is taking the decision out of Dalton's hand for the most part.....or for the most part....It is what it is.....
