The PAC 12 is better than the sec east I think.

On Paper maybe.....LOL...Play an SEC 8 game schedule then talk about it....

A lot of trolls outside the SEC seem to think that they can come into the SEC and succeed.....the schedule is enough of 8 SEC teams week in and week out....It wears you out physically and mentality. It is not an easy task to go undefeated in this league...

Most OC schools play one or two equilvant upper tier SEC caliber teams a year and thats it....

At least you put I think behind it.....

Right on cue haha

Really all of you are quite ridiculous! This much debate over a white linebacker is about idiotic. He will average at best just like every other white linebacker UT has had in the past 20 years.

He's a much better prospect than any we've signed recently.

The brainwashing is taking less and less hold on kids. Texas will try to buy its way through this. They cannot stand their status of lower tier.

LOL from the current #2 recruiting class in the country. Guess that "lower tier" thing is working out pretty well for us.

BTW, I still don't understand the concept I've come across several times on this thread that he'd somehow be a star at Tennessee but "disappear into the woodworks" at Texas. If he's good; he's good. If the SEC is as great as everyone - including me - believes, why would he not be a star in a "lesser" conference like the Big 12-2+1+"1"?

Dale was 26 years ago. In dudes defense he did say in the last 20 years.

How many white LBs have we even signed in the last twenty years besides the current roster? Peace and Karl are all that come to mind. Johnson was a FB and Reveiz a walk on. I think Karl even started off as a DB.

Hacksaw Reynolds and Steve Kiner....I saw Reynolds at a Bowl Game...TN - Arkansas - Liberty Bowl...He was sitting in the the middle of the Arkansas Section as a spectator already graduated....admist a sea of red waving a 6 foot poled huge UT banner flag the entire game daring any Arkansas fan to tell him to put it away.........he was not there for the game but to for the thrill of the fight....Tennessee won the game. Kiner was arrested that evening in the AM for various reasons.

Texas, regardless of previous season record, consistently pulls in top 5 recruiting classes because of the hotbed texas is and their ability to keep those players in state.

Tennessee had done very well for years, but we went through and are about to exit one of the most depleted rosters I've ever seen.

It's actually a compliment to your depth rather than a shot at the conference. Santos has a better chance of starting and playing here then at Texas. At least, that's my opinion.

Think what you want....it maybe but it may not be either. Wednesday and beyond will tell if it is or isn't.

Drink another cup of coffee and think about it....

Texas can get pretty much anyone they want from the state of Texas. They go out and get the top 20 or so they want and then maybe step outside the state.

There's around 350 kids a year that go D-1 from Texas. They can't sign them all.

They didn't offer Santos to "show who's boss" in the state of Texas. They offered him because he was a fall back option.

Damn it Groves. Stop bringing logic into this argument.

I am probably responsible for most of those statements.

Coaching, placement, position, lesser conference = lesser attention. Playing Time....early versus late...given an opportunity at UT but as it appears at Tx he will be repositioned, and not as much of a contributor early on....waste of talent.....

He has to lose weight at Texas to be a LB at TN he is fine to play in the SEC. 4-3 vs 3-4. Power Football in the SEC vs the mixed bag of the B9 or 12.

At texsucks he will not be a LB, he will be a DE. At UT he will be a featured MLB. You must not know much about Santos abilities. Most of us do not think he would be all that as a DE. He has a chance at UT to maximize his abilities for several different, and often stated reasons in this thread. Texas has other DEs who are, and will be better than him. Going to TU for Santos, Texas and UT is a waste. You guys are not going to play him at MLB unless it is twice a game in short yardage or goaline situations. He is not built to chase slot receivers all over the dang field. Nobody much here thinks he will be a star at DE. That pretty much summarizes the situation from IMO most Vol fans point of view.

AT what position.....DE? Pretty arrogant....

We offered Robinson and wanted an answer right away. Is that any less arrogant?

No its not.....and we got one didn't we....entertained for a moment by Robinson but he was quick to reply and I respect that....but you must remember we did not go from zero interest to an offer with Robinson...TX did with Santos.....

Add to the fact that we told Robinson upfront that he maybe a DE

Add to it that he was not a backup option for Santos.

So it becomes less arrogant...
