Damn, that really sounds negative.

If he said that before SS was hired I am in the not worried crowd but I think it was said afterward. I am sorry but if he was really excited about SS then that statement would not have been made.

If the statement below was made after the SS hire then I don't think the reports of him being excited about SS are accurate. Can someone confirm when this statement was made?

Santos:
To be honest with you man I feel lost,” he said. “I found out about them leaving right after one of our Under Amour practices. When they told me after practice I was like, ‘Man I can’t believe they didn’t tell me.’ I figured Coach Sirmon would tell me those kind of things. He said it all happened so fast but that’s life I guess. I’m still in disbelief that something like this would happen so I just have to sit back and really think about what I want to do now. The coaching staff from Tennessee were my guys so now I’m kind of like, what the hell do I do now? I’m so lost, I ain’t even going to lie. Don’t get me wrong, I like Tennessee besides the coaching staff, but for real Coach Sirmon and Coach Wilcox were a big part of that, but now that they’re gone, it kind of feels like it’s empty there

I think thats like a day or two after Sircox left. I think I read something Friday quite a bit more positive. UTVOL02 or UTCVol, either of you remember what I'm talking about?

Just FWIW CSS was recruiting him hard to UA and he picked UT instead over UA. CSS would have been his position coach at UA.

Out of curiosity, what does your depth look like? I'm just wondering if that could have had something to do with his decision. Not choosing Bama isn't an indictment on CSS, it just means that he liked UT more.

He has said on more than one occasion that he loved Tenn and was committed to the school and not the coaches. Then we have this quote which I am certain wasn't presented here the day after JW left. That doesn't mean that wasn't when it was said but this was just posted here a day or so ago.

All we can do. I'm confident he signs the dotted line in a couple weeks.

IMO he's a Vol until he says he's not a Vol. I'd like this kid to come here, but if he chooses differently, so be it.

If he is quoted as saying he is coming back to campus to take another look or that he is canceling his visits tomorrow after SS meets with him I will join you in the confident crowd. Anything other than those two statements will mean nothing to me after reading his quotes since the JW departure.

I think he could come here and be an absolute beast with some hard work. I hope he stays with us. We wont suddenly stand no chance if he doesn't. Jmo

Deep down, he's a closet Vols fan.

I know you are joking (I think TW :)) but I live in Hellabama and I know several people who are both. It's just not right. I really can't explain it and I find myself disliking them more than the true Bama fans. It's like meeting a Red Sox fan who really likes the Yankees too. Either they don't know the history of the teams , or they are just retarded.

True...he is waiting until after his visit with CSS to schedule a UGA visit...it will be telling if he takes the trip to UGA

He was talking to the 24/7 A&M site. Not saying it's not the truth , but he got mad at them before for putting out lies. I have the feeling Santos doesn't want to hurt the fanbase of any school he is talking about. He tells them what they want to hear.

I didn't like what he said in the bruin quote though.

According to his friends, the only other schools he's got some genuine interest in are TX A&M and Arkansas. However, UT is still his leader.

I think the "I'm lost" quote was from a Monday article.

If so , thanks for clearing it up. I didn't know anything new came out on Monday from him. I'm still going with the thought he tells them what they want to hear. At least when they don't make up something he didn't say. He may end up not coming here , but if it's not us , it's A&M. I'm going to wait until I hear what he has to say after SS visits him before I believe everything that has been said. I'm already pretty sure it will be nothing but positive comments. If not and he decides to go elsewhere , I hope he let's them know tomorrow. Good luck to him if that's the case.

Everyone on this thread needs to CALM DOWN! One interesting thought for you all that I have been thinking about...if Dalton was truly wavering and not sure about his commitment, don't you think that we would see maybe another new name or 2 popping up at ILB? I haven't seen one, have you? Also, Dalton chose us over A&M and Arky...no one else has truly been in the running and those 3 schools were the ones that had the best relationship with him. What happened to A&M and Arky?...they had coaching turnover too. A&M has a new head coach on top of a new defensive coordinator and new LB coach; Arky also has a new DC and new LB coach. So, in reality we are all still on equal ground with Dalton as far as coaches are concerned. Now, why would he up and go to UGA or some other school that hasn't even been recruiting him and he has no relationship with? I don't think so. He doesn't strike me as that kind of young man. Dalton is still all VOL! He chose UT for many other reasons than the coaches...Wilcox and Sirmon leaving was a blow for him, however, once CSS talks to him tonight, all of those reasons that he chose UT will come back to him, and he will continue to be a VFL!!

This. Plus, Him and O'Brien are going to be room-mates and deer hunting buddies. He won't bust that up.

No, you're right.

Santos belongs in orange. If he doesn't stick with UT, I will be shocked.

I still can't believe he wants to give Ohio State a look. Arkansas somewhat makes sense because it's SEC and it's closer to home. But then again, Texas A&M couldn't lure him.

Why the avi change?

He's just telling UGA what they want to hear. He is all Vol and will reaffirm that later today. His official visit to UGA will be in October when we come rolling in there!
