If the statement below was made after the SS hire then I don't think the reports of him being excited about SS are accurate. Can someone confirm when this statement was made?
Santos:
To be honest with you man I feel lost, he said. I found out about them leaving right after one of our Under Amour practices. When they told me after practice I was like, Man I cant believe they didnt tell me. I figured Coach Sirmon would tell me those kind of things. He said it all happened so fast but thats life I guess. Im still in disbelief that something like this would happen so I just have to sit back and really think about what I want to do now. The coaching staff from Tennessee were my guys so now Im kind of like, what the hell do I do now? Im so lost, I aint even going to lie. Dont get me wrong, I like Tennessee besides the coaching staff, but for real Coach Sirmon and Coach Wilcox were a big part of that, but now that theyre gone, it kind of feels like its empty there

Just FWIW CSS was recruiting him hard to UA and he picked UT instead over UA. CSS would have been his position coach at UA.
I think thats like a day or two after Sircox left. I think I read something Friday quite a bit more positive. UTVOL02 or UTCVol, either of you remember what I'm talking about?
He has said on more than one occasion that he loved Tenn and was committed to the school and not the coaches. Then we have this quote which I am certain wasn't presented here the day after JW left. That doesn't mean that wasn't when it was said but this was just posted here a day or so ago.

All we can do. I'm confident he signs the dotted line in a couple weeks.
Deep down, he's a closet Vols fan.
If he is quoted as saying he is coming back to campus to take another look or that he is canceling his visits tomorrow after SS meets with him I will join you in the confident crowd. Anything other than those two statements will mean nothing to me after reading his quotes since the JW departure.

I think the "I'm lost" quote was from a Monday article.
Everyone on this thread needs to CALM DOWN! One interesting thought for you all that I have been thinking about...if Dalton was truly wavering and not sure about his commitment, don't you think that we would see maybe another new name or 2 popping up at ILB? I haven't seen one, have you? Also, Dalton chose us over A&M and Arky...no one else has truly been in the running and those 3 schools were the ones that had the best relationship with him. What happened to A&M and Arky?...they had coaching turnover too. A&M has a new head coach on top of a new defensive coordinator and new LB coach; Arky also has a new DC and new LB coach. So, in reality we are all still on equal ground with Dalton as far as coaches are concerned. Now, why would he up and go to UGA or some other school that hasn't even been recruiting him and he has no relationship with? I don't think so. He doesn't strike me as that kind of young man. Dalton is still all VOL! He chose UT for many other reasons than the coaches...Wilcox and Sirmon leaving was a blow for him, however, once CSS talks to him tonight, all of those reasons that he chose UT will come back to him, and he will continue to be a VFL!!
