This kid is a freak.
last game he had 14 tackles, 2 sacks and a forced fumble. Not to mention he played both sides of the ball scoring 3 tds on offense.

But he's too fat to score touchdowns according to Perroni. He's going to grow into an offensive lineman if he's not careful.

The key is A & M is not going to come into the SEC and dominate. They will be in the middle of the pack and it will be that way for a while. I know UT is in the middle right now but it will not be that for long.

In the West they are middle of the pack.

In the East they would do just fine and maybe make it to the SECCG.

Santos, a linebacker from Van, Texas, is currently a three-star recruit and the No. 15 inside linebacker prospect. After pledging to Tennessee this summer, there has been a lot of talk about him being underrated.

From what I have seen so far, I stand by the three-star ranking. He has a Rivals Rating of 5.7, meaning I still think very highly of him as a player. It is no easy task to achieve a ranking even that high. Santos plays downhill very well against the run and does not let too much get past him.

I do have my concerns, though. When I last saw him in person, he measured in at 6-foot-2, 245 pounds. That is more weight than he played at as a junior so we have yet to see how it affects him in pads. He was a step slow at the Next Level event in February, though, and had a lot of trouble in coverage against running backs and tight ends. He also struggled a bit changing directions.

From all reports I've received as of late, Santos' weight is still a concern. Because of that, he was not under consideration for four stars the last time we met. I will see Van play this season and I will keep a close eye on Santos because I am not afraid to admit that I am wrong. If he is a step faster than when I last saw him, he has a very good shot of moving up. Right now, though, I think there is a chance he could grow into a productive defensive end in college.

Guy is clueless imo.

sounds like this guys personal opinon... I understand his concern. However, I put my trust in Dooley and Sirmon in that they have evaluated him thoroughly and his weight gain is not a concern.

Even if he moves to end, his speed and skill warrants a 4 star rating at that position as well. This is something else. I still find it ridiculous that he expects a mike to be excellent in coverage.

ATP, I could care less about his rating as long as he signs with UT. I'm pretty sure he's going to be damn good.

Some of the best DT's were recruited as LB's. Guys who can gain weight and only lose a little of their speed/quickness are worth their weight in gold.

Seems like a pretty rational explanation to me. Maybe he can improve it, but still, it makes sense if you take off the orange colored shades.
