Yeah with Lattimore. Even without him they were pretty darn good without Garcia this year.

And yeah, UGA is overrated, but they'd still handle most of the Big 12 with relative ease I think.
Oklahoma St. and Colorado fans disagree.

During the regular season & the post season, the Big 12 was the 2nd best conference. In fact, for much of the regular season, the computers had the Big 12 as the best conference. Am I saying the elite of the Big 12 is better this past season than the elite of the SEC? Of course not.

Also, with WVU and TCU coming in for A&M and Mizzou, the Big 12 has become more difficult while the SEC has become easier. A&M and Mizzou are great additions for the SEC relative to eyeballs watching TVs and better TV contracts but purely in football terms, the Big 12 came out of realignment much better.

This whole conference issue is what has confused the aggies relative to recruiting. They think recruits will be more excited about them because they are in the SEC. Conference affiliation means more to them, and probably to you guys, than it does to Texas. Kids from the lonestar state grow up wanting to be a Longhorn and it has nothing to do with conference affiliation. They feel that being a Longhorn is special.
not sure if serious. If so, the arrogance borders on retardation.

The post season is a poor measure. Typically SEC teams play "up". An SEC team at 7-5 playing someone else at 10-2.... stuff like that.

A&M is better than TCU on a consistent basis. WVU has played in a VERY watered down conference so it is difficult to tell if they are better than either.

Very doubtful. We'll see. Being in the SEC is already helping A&M's recruiting. Mizzou should benefit some plus HSFB in Mo is getting better.

This much is true. Texas is going to get... and as long as Brown is there, waste... their pick of Texas recruits.

But A) your coaches don't always select the right guys and B) even when they do you can't sign them all. There will ALWAYS be great players and even better players after you all are done. Texas likely won't feel it much directly. Where you will feel it is who those other recruits choose after you don't sign them. It will in all likelihood hurt your competition some. Your conference will probably become weaker overall. A&M and Mizzou won't be the only beneficiaries either. More SEC TV and coverage in Texas helps Arkansas and LSU particularly.

You will get players. The same cannot be said for TTU, Baylor, and the Big12 N teams that depend on Texas for their players.

Don't believe the hype. This is from Phil Steele.
Even thought the SEC regularly plays the tough New Years Day and later games and the Big 12 is often playing the Wac, Swac, or Mac, the above numberst tell it all.
SEC #1 with an overall record of 48-31 last decade
Big 12 #5 with an overall losing record
Numbers don't lie.
