Since we recently offered Chase Robison a DE/Inside LB do you think Dooley and Company believe Santos is gone? I just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts

Why is everyone saying this? Because he happens to be visiting Texas around the same time UT offers Robison...?

Did you think the offer to R.Brown was an indication that Santos was leaving...?

Santos may very well end up at Texas...but Sunseri likes Robison as a OLB in a 3-4...

Truer words have never been spoken. We all love his attitude and leadership. It's something this team needs now and moving into the future.

A Freshman is not going to come in with instant....Leadership and attitude upgrades for the team...

Down the road maybe...just depends on other factors...We are talking about kids growing up to be men and leaders....They have to mature....This kid has got to earn leadership and respect....

He doesn't walk in with it and if all fall....His attitude may change....It may not....

If you don't think Santos makes an impact leading the team then you're lost. I'm sorry.

Here we go. I don't think anyone should assume anything until after the weekend. Robison has been a DE his entire career. Dude doesn't have a clue how to play a 3-4 LB.

Most people assume J. Smith will be better as an OLB in a 3-4 and pretty sure you can say the exact same about him....

Dudes gone. Texas came calling and could use another LB. Bama is full to the brim. Tennessee's coaching carousel gave him the excuse he was looking for.

It also really sucks to read back through this thread and see that Santos has said he only wants to play in the SEC, 99.9% committed to UT (post-Sunseri visit), loves UT fans, coaching staff, atmoshpere, etc.

How fun is recruiting?

will the mods remove the tag that he is commit or do they usually keep it?

I will bet you a week's ban that Santos is gone like the big bird. Do you want some of that??? Just for the record he has made more promises and broken them than Obama.

Not as a Freshman or a Rookie....He will have to earn it.... Some of you give these kids God Status....Potential is there for sure...but that does not make him the leader. Showing sound leadership at this moment, hope he has updated his thoughts with the coaches regarding the Texas Offer....

Otha has better athleticism and potential

he can stay on the field all 3 downs.

there is no reason to think he wont be better.

Santos is no scrub

I've been saying Otha was the best LB we've had coming in the whole time for the same reasons. He also plays just as mean as Santos. He just doesn't go around saying it. If Santos is gone like everyone believes then oh well. He's built for the 3-4 IMO. But I'm fine with taking Peters and King then loading up on LBs next year.

Maybe, but if he is honest with himself he will realize he would get better defensive coaching at TN. I mean, it's not like CSS has any linebackers in the NFL, or about to be drafted in the first round (eye roll).

So, why would I make this bet? I've never said Santos will stay or go.

Make it a permanent ban and I might listen. No one wants you here anyways. I'd be doing VN a huge favor.

It will just make it all that much sweeter if he sticks with his commitment to UT. Clearly the kid can play, and schools want him. Don't try to convince yourself otherwise just because we might not get him now.

I've got a feeling the young leaders are already on the team especially the defense. AJ looks like he could be our undisputed leader on defense. Who wouldn't respond to him on that defense? Santos maybe gone but my favorite LB prospect Otha is still on the ship. LehGO

Don't do it. You make valuable contributions. Fijivol doesn't... and would likely come back under a different name anyway.

He's been a leader in every level of football. From pee wee on he has called defenses and been the go to guy. So the freshman class doesn't need a mouthpiece and a voice to push them all to get better? Plus it's not like the current team is loaded with Seniors top to bottom. I'm sorry, I disagree. It's very, very hard to make someone a leader. You either have it, or more than likely you don't.
