Thats the thing. If that possibility arose I dont think he would take it or even think about it.
Growing up as a UT fan and in a UT town he had better been damn sure he 100% behind Vandy when he committed.
It could be any school. If you grow up fans of school A and then commit to their rival school B, the recruit better be 100% sure of his choice. JMO
You don't know anything. You're just claiming to like 99% of people on message boards. Nothing is certain in recruiting until that name is on paper.
You may consider UT a rival... but the feeling really isn't reciprocated... at all. You are considered an auto-win. When lightning strikes and you actually beat UT, it is seen as a low point for UT. Vandy has beaten UT 4 times in the last 50 meetings. That isn't a rivalry. I am not trying to dog you so much as show you the reason why Vol fans WILL NOT get all worked up if he signs with you.
The only reasons mentioned here have nothing to do with Vandy generally but specifically Franklin and Travis.
I don't know why Jelks chose Vandy. Most likely he bought Franklin's pitch that he wouldn't have much of an opportunity to play at UT. Whatever his reasons are... God bless him. But Vandy really isn't an offensive choice to most Vol fans... like it would be if he chose a real rival like UGA, Bama, UF, et al.
Hey nash, what's up with McDonald? He still going to end up at Vandy?
You dont know me or who I am. I know everyone on the Vandy football team. I would know more things than you would about it.
Same goes to you. You will know more about UT football than me. Is that alright with you?
He is said over and over and over again he is solid and is going to sign with Vandy. Just let it go
Could be. But again not trying to just bust your chops.... if Franklin is successful at Vandy then he won't be at Vandy long enough for this to happen. He'll get a bigger gig. If this season was just an anomaly then he just becomes another in a long line.Lol alright. I understand that the history has not been pretty but Franklin has done the right things to convince me that he is putting this program in the right direction. I think we will become rivals as we get more competitive.
Within the cosmos of possibilities? Yes. Likely? No. UT and UF were at a low ebb in '11. Neither is staying down. UGA has rebuilt their roster but IMO is a coaching change away from getting to the top tier of the SEC. I am not a big believer in USCe but they hold several advantages over Vandy for getting great athletes. You can say we will never get better but that is just ignorance. Every team has the chance to get better.
And to repeat, if Franklin is successful at Vandy then he'll get a pay day. He'll get an offer that Vandy cannot match from a bigger program.
this is why franklin will put down the foundation at vandy but won't finish it. he is a lesser lane kiffin. he can bring in some talent, but talks alot more trash than he should. i just dont' see how franklin turns down big time BCS programs when they come calling for him next year.
You obviously have not closely looked at what he does then. Sigh. It will be impossible for some of yall to understand but instead of trying to flame him, me, or Vandy just watch and see.
ok so lets play in your fantasy world, and vandy wins 8 games next year. there is no way franklin is going to one stay under the radar, 2) be at the bottom of a short list for bigger programs. All AD's are going to say is if that guy can win at Vandy, imagine the talent he would have at this school, facilities, and fan base. Don't get mad at us man, we are pointing out a dude that we all know well, he is just like lane kiffin despite the recruiting prowess. He will burn you just like Kiffin burned us.
lol alright. I understand that the history has not been pretty but franklin has done the right things to convince me that he is putting this program in the right direction. i think we will become rivals as we get more competitive.
