'12 TN OL Andrew Jelks

260 isnt bad for his frame. He could easily put on plenty of weight just in another year plus he will be a red shirt and more bulk time.

That's true. I guess I'm still not used to actually having depth at certain positions on our team, LOL! It seems that for so long we were having to recruit for immediate needs, I still have the mentality that we are recruiting kids to play right away.

I see he's listed at 260. Is that still accurate? That's very undersized for an OL.

260 is what he played at last season. He's listed at 275 as of fall practice on Henry County's roster. He won't have trouble putting on weight. Especially once he hits college level strength and conditioning.

Jelks looked very impressive in jamboree last night but will need a red shirt year to add some muscle

Still just seems to be UT and Vandy at the top. He keeps pushing back when he wants to make a decision, but I still think he ends up at UT.

-Fortenberry

He keeps pushing his decision timeline back so I don't see one this month from him.

-Hubbs

I think we get Jelks but I'm not sure why he keeps holding back on making a decision.

Bigger fish? One can always hope. I do like Jelks as a prospect though. No offense intended.

Indecision? Maybe he really likes Vandy Maybe the coaching staff is still slow playing him?

Jelks is a plan C option. Humphries was A, Diamond is B, and Jelks is C.

I think this is correct. As long as it seems like we've still got a shot at Diamond, Jelks will keep pushing it back. If Diamond commits somewhere else, Jelks will commit and we'll be done at OL for 2012.

Shirley we're looking at more than 1 OL this year.

We've got 1 Jr (Thomas), 5 Soph (Bullard, Stone, James, Fulton, Schofield), and 5 Frosh (Richardson, Kerbyson, Posey, Crowder, Jackson).

I think it'll be 1 OL this year and then another pretty good size OL haul in 2013.

....and yes, I called you Shirley.

Technically, we will have taken two this year with Bullard on scholarship. O-line is probably our least biggest need this year. Who would've thought that two years ago?

I think we should and will take 2 in order to plan for a best case scenario.

Best case scenario: James, Fulton, and Stone all go pro a year early. If that were the case we would be hurtin for depth at O-Line again in 2013.

I believe that would be the worst case scenario...not the best

There is no way you see 3 offensive linemen from one team turning Pro after their Junior year. That would be a historic offensive line.
