'12 TN OL Andrew Jelks

Easy on the name...The Jelks name goes back a long way in west TN football. Andrew has a father that still holds records at HCHS and a grandfather that has been inducted to several hall of fames (even one in MS)...Andrew fits Dooley's mold of low risk when it comes to a football player. He is highly intelligent, has excellent character and seems to be a pretty good baller. He may lack the bulk now but, holy cow, he's only a junior. A 6'6" 260lb junior that's pretty incredible.

Rivals from San Antonio combine:

^^^THIS^^^

Good arm extension and footwork. Like the comment, "...has the desired height and long arms that college coaches are looking for in a left offensive tackle."

RE: adding 40lbs of bulk & strength...cue Tennessee's S&C CRM.

TOP 10 in-state.

Will likely have to turn some heads at camp to get an offer.

They aren't going to toss around a bunch of Oline offers this year.

True.

AND

True. 3 elite prospects, 4 with a TE. However, given that he is in-state and with Tennessee trying to make some headway in that area, maybe CDD can work out some arrangement w/ both AJ & BS.

Visited Duke this weekend. Said he will try to visit Alabama and Tennessee in March. Duke is obviously the favorite at this point.

"It's just about how I feel about the coaches and players," he said. "It's about whether I can see myself there. I definitely felt that way at Duke. I could really see myself there."

Are these 3 OL sec caliber players? If so take Jelk, Still, and Shuler and be done with the OL.

Yes, I think they are all 3 SEC caliber players.

However I do not hope those are the 3 OL we take this year. I would like to see us maybe take one of them at most and then a couple other guys from surrounding states who are better.

That would be a pretty weak OL class for us this year, IMO. Especially when we are in a position to be so picky.

Personally, I would like to be able to pass on all three.

Who are the best out of the 3?
Still?
