Who will Kimbrow choose?

The people bashing Kimbrow for tonights game clearly haven't watched it.

If you watched the game, you'd know that the defense was through the o-line before Kimbrow received the hand off. It's like watching Chris Johnson try to run on the Titans this year or Poole trying to run on the Vols this year. The run blocking is terrible.

Nobody would rush well with East's o-line. They were already down 21 by the time Kimbrow had 5 carries.

The hate for a high school playing on a loser team and heading to another loser team is unreal. Ever think there is a reason he wants to get a quality education? He obviously doesn't know what winning feels like. His team is s***

Chill dude, I don't hate the kid. Looking at a kid's stats after he plays better competition is just a way of gauging his talent.

I watched the game. Obviously MUS was the better team, but top notch running backs don't get held for under 40 yards against average high school competition. It's not like he is rushing against Colrain or STA. Running Backs that are supposed to be as explosive as Kimbrow has been billed simply should never have a game like that. When North Hall is getting beat like a drum Imani Cross still manages to get his yards regardless of the circumstances.

This makes no sense.

If you get hit by multiple defenders while the QB is handing you the ball, what are you suppose to do? Break multiple tackles in the backfield?? Every single play there were a host of defenders already in the backfield while he was getting the ball. He was literally standing in place while getting hit. Unless you're the incredible hulk, nobody was running with that o-line

By the way, don't start making excuses about Kimbrow's O-line tonight. Even in today's Memphis Commercial Appeal newspaper, his own coaches were touting him. Nobody complained about his offensive line in the previous games. They finally got spanked by a real team.

No problem.

I could care less if people like him. I don't know the kid and he is a future Commodore. But I actually did watch the game so the people bashing him based on his stat line appear to be clueless. They're doing it just because is a Vandy commit. There was nothing any RB could have done tonight in this game. I even mentioned in the game thread on the highschool forum that it would take a 225lb all-american bowling over 5 people to gain positive yardage with that o-line and that was before halftime. The offensive line was shredded that badly

Where did his 1500 season to date yards come from if its all the line's fault?

You're right... Chris Johnson sucks. Who cares that it's against NFL defenses. Nobody has complained about him playing against NFL defenses.

That just isn't true. The kid was brought down extremely easily multiple times where a better RB would have gotten yardage. I have nothing against Kimbrow, but his stat line tonight is an indictment on his skillset and talent.

So Kimbrow is Chris Johnson? How many times are you going to bring this up? Stop comparing an NFL running back to a high school kid who can't spell Commodore.

Anyways, I'm done arguing for tonight. I actually watched the game but it seems a lot of people are going to crap on a kid that committed to a rival because of his state line. All I'm saying is, he was literally hit by a defender while the QB was handing the ball off to him just about every play. There is a reason somebody like CJ only has 77 yards on 33 carries. It's because the box is stacked and he's hit before he ever has a chance. That was the same thing tonight. Aside from Kimbrow, the offense seems to be pathetic and they zoned in on him the whole game. They stacked the box and didn't even try to defend the pass.

Again... I actually watched the game. How many people hating a 17 year old actually even watched the game?

Well, The_Orange_Pearl can't remember who he is talking to about what.

Anyway, here is Kimbrow's quote at the end of an article in the Memphis Commercial Appeal's Sports section today...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I mean, people are always going to hate on you because they can't do it themselves," he said. "Running for 441 yards in a game is not an easy thing to do. This year, I'm playing with a chip on my shoulder.

"I'm motivated to prove them wrong (and) show them I'm a football player that also runs track, not a just a track guy who plays football. Size doesn't really matter. I mean, if you can play football, you can play.

"I feel like I'm the best back in the nation."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...and then they played MUS.

Don't know where you're getting this HATE problem from, dude. This has been a discussion thread about Kimbrow and his East High team getting a reality check in big boy high school football.

I was at the game and saw them get spanked. They are probably gonna lose two or three more. I wish they would play Christian Brothers, cause they'd get another spanking.

MUS was 2-3 before tonight if I'm not mistaken. It's not like this was a typically talented MUS team.

Actually, this is a pretty good MUS team. They have a a good number of kids that will play on Saturdays. They were 2-3 going in, but those 3 losses were to South Panola, Ensworth, and Olive Branch. The OB loss was on the final drive of the game. The other two, they were hampered by multiple turnovers by the QB early in the game inside their own 25.

They still have White Station and Whitehaven left.

Did not know that. Bottom lines and stats never give the full story. Thanks
