Who will Kimbrow choose?

Kimbrow might not stick with what he chooses, Azubike is still taking visits, and Batey isn't on our radar. Long way until Feb.

As good as it will be for Vandy to pick these guys up, I also agree with you. Given the recent drama surrounding Kimbrow and his offer list, talent, etc., I don't see him sticking come NSD. JMO.

Bowles, Jelks, maybe Redmond, and Mathers or Robinson would be a pretty good in-state haul.

You guys keep leaving Dawson out of that in state recruiting haul for tennessee. Dawson could end up being the best player in the state by the next time rankings come out.

I would not count any of them as real possibilities. I love how now that the Kimbrow ship has sailed they have switched to Mathers and Robinson yet both have not had UT in their top 4-5 and both have expressed big interest in teams OTHER than UT. Maybe if both of them commit somewhere we can find some kid over in Johnson City to go after. In state is not as priority as some make it out to be.

What state a player is in is irrelevant.

You take the best 25 every year.

Kimbrow is so fast. You say "how fast is he O&W?" He's so fast he could flip Midfielder's collar down without him noticing. Now that's fast.

Lol, yes it is!

It can make or break our classes. We don't have enough to make up the majority of a class but 5 or 10 is what we usually have. It makes it more important to get these kids and build relationships for the future. The more we lock up the state the less we have to rely on out of state recruiting, which is hard enough. Take Smith, Gordon, Richardson, Stone, Bullard, Crowder, King, Teague, Thomas, Kerbyson, Clear, etc. out of the last 2 classes and look how much harder it just got. Not to mention the guys we missed on like Hightower, Maclin, Jones brothers, etc. the last few years.
On top of that it always makes you proud to have as many talented TN boys on there as possible.

Its June!

How many of those players are on the offensive side of the ball? Aren't you the one preaching CDD should load the entire class with the front 7 defensive players?

Hopefully some more less-talented players leave/transfer to free up some numbers. We can't take too many this year, hopefully 25. Hopefully. Lots of OLs, RBs, and ATHs (more or less DBs). We can actually be somewhat picky at those positions.

I want in-state recruiting to be a priority as much as the next guy, but I definitely don't want it to be a freaking charity.

I am just making a point that in state recruiting is not as priority as alot of the local homers want to make it. There are alot of 3 and 4 star kids on that list with great offer lists that are just being passed over by the staff. Is the staff worried about kissing ass and building relationships in East Mississippi? It does not appear so.

What makes you think Vandy/Bama lead for Jelks?

The last article where he stated Bama was the best place he had been to would give a little insight. Also all the rumors of him going to Vandy. While it looks like he is not going to commit now...several of the other kids are. There is alot of smoke there. I could still see him going to Vandy, maybe he is just not going to commit with the group. I DO think the Vols could still take him, especially if we miss on Humphries.

It is a priority. We're not taking players we don't need. Which players are being passed over by the staff? I would love some good information to support your claims. I can reasonably assure you the staff isn't passing over players we need.

Are you not the one who was ready to choke someone when you heard the staff was passing on Kimbrow? You said the staff would be stupid for not going after him with his speed. Has something changed?? Ohhh thats right..he is going to Vandy..we didnt want him anyway.

Voytik, 4 star kid...ya think they are not "passing" on him? I would think we are as they WILL still take a QB.

They passed on Bars as they did not even offer him. I am pretty sure if a kid can play at Michigan, he can play at Tennessee. We will still take 2-3 OTs...Yes, they passed on Bars.

They are passing on kids at positions of need as they will take other kids at the same position. I am NOT saying these kids are the best choice....but just proof that in state kids are not as valued as some like to think.

Because they are going after the best 25, like I said earlier.

LOL. Wow. OK. Thanks for proving my point. UT isn't passing over the kids they want/need. We don't need Voytik. He's not the type of QB we are looking for. We don't HAVE to take a QB this year. That's still TBD, however. This isn't a charity. Bars wasn't good enough in the eyes of our staff. That's not passing him over. Plus we have the right to be picky at OL right now. Position of need? I might give you QB, but OL, DB, and even RB are not absolute needs in this class. We'll take 2-3 OLs every year from here on out. Hopefully they'll be top guys, most likely not just Tennessee kids.

I don't think Kimbrow will stick with Vandy like others have noticed as well. I still think UT would benefit from getting Kimbrow, but there is something happening that neither you nor I know about in his recruitment. We won't know for a while.

I see you continue to talk out of your ass. You didn't provide any qualified information, just your opinions. Your opinions and idiotic sarcasm are getting old, fast. There's always going to be UT homers here. It's kind of funny, though, you seem to fit into the "we didn't want him anyway" group if uninformed posters.

I don't give a butt where the kids come from as long as we get the best football players for UT. I don't think putting a fence around your state means you'll be successful. It's easier to recruit perhaps but none of it is a guarantee. IMO.
