'12 SC WR Quinshad Davis

He is gonna need it when the AA blasts them. I'm thinking Patterson scared him off. Everyone thought he was the sure thing.
I'm with you on this one. The weird thing about Patterson scaring someone away is that he'll be gone next year/the year after. You probably wouldn't be receiving bonafide PT your first year either way. The second year is when you're going to get the PT after J Hunt, D Rogers, and possibly Patterson leave for the draft.

IMO, he's a lesser prospect than the 4 guys we already had signed. But since we have plenty of open spots, adding another just in case would've been nice.

He was not coming here if CP came here in my opinion. Depth charts can always be a concern. It is not just CP either. We have guys from 13 and Croom and possibly Drae for the position as well. Just part of it. More of the second thing than CP but CP was probably a last straw to make him change his mind.

IMO, UT has the best talent at WR in the SEC now.

Hunter, CP, DR, Dallas, Neal, plus one or two of the Fr with Bray, Worley, or even Peterman on the other end is just flat out dangerous.

Pig will get some fair PT imo. He has the speed and play making ability to be a threat every time the ball is in his hands. His YAC is very impressive.

I didn't want to post this prior to NSD... just in case CP was lurking... but there is almost no way that all three of those guys get enough balls to post the numbers to go pro. If they do... UT will hoist an SEC Championship banner this December. Virtually all UT passing records would fall.... and probably scoring and total O records too.

I do not see a thing not to like about Bowles or Croom either at the WR position unless you think the redundancy of BIG WR's is a problem.

I complemented MZTERRY but was sincere when I said that if Croom has his mom's spunk the SEC DB's are in big trouble. Sometimes it is just as simple as a guy saying "I'm better than you. I'm beating you... and there's nothing you can do to stop it"... that level of confidence turns a guy with physical ability into a Calvin Johnson.

I completely agree. A long shot, yes, but it's certainly not out of the realm of possibilities if this staff can actually coach the talent they have to work with this year. That's the only reason I allowed for it.

Oh I agree. Bowles and Croom are going to be studs. Both will be deep threats when the time comes. However, im not sure how much PT they will get their Freshman year, if any due to the depth we have at WR. We may decide to red shirt them which wouldn't be a bad decision at all. Only reason why I think Pig gets PT is because he is a different type of receiver. Pig will prove to be a better slot receiver than Arnett imo. Arnett had a ton of potential, and impressed me during his first year of action. But, he didn't have blazing speed or appear to be a major threat when he touched the ball. Just a sure handed possession receiver. Pig is more dynamic.

I am "intrigued" if not a bit optimistic.

IMHO, UT was a whole patch of trouble for several teams last year if Hunter doesn't go down. Cincy turned out to be a pretty good team. I honestly think Hunter was going to run crazy over UF.

UT lost by 8 to UGA... I think Hunter was worth more than 8 pts in that game.

I am not sure he makes enough of a difference vs Bama or LSU.... but if he had stayed healthy, we would have been having a whole different conversation right now.

Not mad about this one. Kid made a good decision and would have been a luxury to have, but not a necessity. I really like this kid and think he will do great at the next level. I actually hope that he does well for Fedora and UNC. He didn't play games with the process, he just quietly went about his business and made a decision. Good for him.
