Hopefully the staff locks up the Gatorade POY in SC two years in a row...come on down, QD!

Sounds like a good prospect, hopefully we can reel him in. I miss when we had reliable recievers at TN...the Zach Rogers of the world news to be on the bench where they belong

I like how he catches the ball at its highest point. He can really go get it

Watching him play right now. I'm a Byrnes alumn & he beat us almost by himself in the regular season game. Byrnes winning 31-24 midway through 4th qtr. Davis has looked good just caught a ball & raced about 60 yds for a td.

WR Quinshad Davis finished SR year with over 2,000 receiving yards. I believe it was 24 TD's and 108 receptions.

*Per MaxPreps he has 25 TD's

I would assume Jay Graham knows Davis pretty well from his time at SC? If we did happen to miss out on Patterson, which I dont believe we will, but anyways I think Davis would be an excellent replacement. Same type build and great hands. With Graham used to recruiting out of SC I think he could seal the deal for us with Davis if we decided to take him.

Not sure if it's 100% true or not but my Clemson friend who follows recruiting very closely says that Davis really wanted to go to USCjr or Clemson but they don't seem to have room anymore (he waited too long to commit) so he was planning to commit to Wake Forest until the UT offer and now is listening to UT. Hopefully he comes to Knoxville for a visit....

My opinion is the staff offered Davis after they found that Patterson was not an EE. I think now they would take the first to commit. That is if we take one more WR.

Sounds like the coaches cooled on CP because of grade issues. At least that's what I took from OCI's post.

I think Davis is the next best option if we don't get CP, not counting Diggs, Agholor, or maybe D'Vo Montgomery.

I agree. They know we sit well with Patterson, and his decision is looming, but we will still most likely have to fight to keep him if he does indeed commit to Tennessee next week. Unless he happens to shut down his recruitment all together when he makes his decision, but I dont see that happening. Either way, I think we get one more WR which will be Patterson or Davis imo. Ive felt great about Patterson since we first started recruiting the guy. So therefore, im sticking with him being a Vol next week.

Patterson isn't announcing next week. He says it will probably be signing day.

Yeah I just realized that. Well as much as I want Patterson to be a Vol and have had him down as apart of this class for a while, we cant afford to wait around on him if we have other elite prospects such as Davis or Fuller interested in Tennessee. I say we take whoever is ready to commit the soonest out of those 3. I really wanted Patterson to be a Vol and hope in the long run he will be Vol, but if the train passes him up thats on him. We have alot of momentum in recruiting right now, and alot of elite talent who's ready to jump on board and help this team get back to the top again. Cant risk missing out on those kind of players just to focus our attention on one.

I think any school would make room for him regardless. I hear he's a tiger lock.

I was thinking while I was watching the championship game last week we should be recruiting this kid. He is a playmaker!

Just to take the contrarian point of view, could Davis be a better option than CP? Two more years of playing time, less grade concerns, etc? Just food for thought...

He's the Gatorade Player of the Year in SC. Over 2,000 yds receiving and +25 TD's. He was the man at Gaffney this year. I really hope he wants to be a Vol in the end.
