"I de-committed yesterday (Friday), and I committed to Tennessee last night," Meredith said.

Meredith admitted that something didn't feel right about UNC after the news officially broke that Everett Withers was being replaced by Fedora.

Even though there's a good chance Tar Heel tight ends coach Allen Mogridge might get retained by Fedora, Meredith prefers to hang his hat in Knoxville.

He cites the coaches on Derek Dooley's staff, and the comfort he feels with Tennessee, as the big reasons for the switch.

"Just the coaching staff (at UT), and it felt like home. It just didn't feel right in my heart (at UNC anymore), and Tennessee felt right," he said.

Sounds good to me. He is a good pick up. 6'5'' TE who is this athletic. He is a take all day. We CAN afford to redshirt him if need be (how nice is that to say).

Staff's persistence while Meredith was committed to UNC is really paying off. This is pretty much a done deal.

VQ guys are saying the longer his recruitment goes the better it is for UNC.

The early word from Chapel Hill and the hiring of Larry Fedora is that Fedora may very well keep Allen Mogridge on his staff. If that's the case then I think that helps UNC in their effort to keep Justin Meredith. - Hubbs

Here's some proof that OCI is legit:

Rivals saw OCI's post on Meredith in September and decided JM was only worthy of a 3*. Rivals believes, therefore so do I.
