'12 QB LA Jeremy Liggins

His Rivals profile lists him at 270...
There's no way that's true.

Actually he is much heavier than that... I would suspect he will have to lose 40 lbs to ever see the field at QB. Of course, I would not be surprised to eventually see him at DT. Incredible athlete at the weight he plays at but no way he sees the field without losing major weight or moving to DT.

He's no Lorenzen, he's pretty solid. Moves a whole lot better than Jared too. Liggins is no Fat Boy.

I would not mind seeing him in Orange in the FB position. Mark my words FB is going to be the new Spread QB position... no homo.

Now we see why most MS stay instate. Usually they have no problem qualifying for Ole Miss or MSU.

Ayers case ends after Supreme Court refuses to hear appeal | Black Issues in Higher Education | Find Articles

In 1995, Biggers issued a ruling that called for new admissions standards. After a series of appeals, then Gov. Ronnie Musgrove announced out-of-court settlement talks in 2000.

This court case, in essence, forced Ole Miss/MSU to lower admission standards to a uniform number set by the HBCU in Ms through an arbitrator.

This is WHY you now see State/OM rated so badly by different college-ranking services based on the aptitude and success rate of those being admitted. It basically forced us to let unqualified students in, only to watch them fail to make the grade and drop out. A double-edged sword. IF you just take year 3 - grad school, State/OM are both very highly rated as institutions. No major publication ranks this way though...

All that to say the ONE positive that came from this is, yes, we can get unprepared MS kids into school that have no business being there...

It gives kids a chance where the state education system k-12 failed them may be another assessment as well. It makes me wonder if kids not just different school systems within the state, but if their state provided an all around better support structure would more students be better prepared whether college or work.

I was never excited about Liggins at QB, he could go to CC and/or JUCO and be successful at QB but not in the SEC. If he wants to play in the SEC, he is going to have to move to DT.

The first QB slash DT.

I hope everything works out for him, he beat cancer at an early age and lost a kidney.

BTW the he sign a NLI and than not qualify. If so he counts against the 25 meaning also LSU can not back count intothe position for him because of the new rule. Why UA never let Gladney sign one.

This is why the term "sign-and-place" no longer exists.

Good point guys...

I hadn't realized that yet, but it makes sense.

Still would've rather have him over Schuessler last season as our QB in Mullen's offense.
