This court case, in essence, forced Ole Miss/MSU to lower admission standards to a uniform number set by the HBCU in Ms through an arbitrator.
This is WHY you now see State/OM rated so badly by different college-ranking services based on the aptitude and success rate of those being admitted. It basically forced us to let unqualified students in, only to watch them fail to make the grade and drop out. A double-edged sword. IF you just take year 3 - grad school, State/OM are both very highly rated as institutions. No major publication ranks this way though...
All that to say the ONE positive that came from this is, yes, we can get unprepared MS kids into school that have no business being there...
