'12 NC OT D.J. Humphries

Keith is the SE or East Recruiting guy for Rivals...He's posting, on the Gators ITG board, that after Humphries commits, he'll have some nice background stories for them. The problem is, he's not posting those possible articles on the TN Rivals board

Why would he post on one and not the other? Seems obvious to me

My experience is when a team has a large representation of their media for a kid's announcement, it usually goes their way. That's all I'm going on. It's all I have.

that worked out great for msu last year, not saying we get the same favorable announcement. seems like the ut recruiting services dont attend many announcements anyway.

those background stories should be interesting.

from ITG

FYI: I'm covering the commit announcement this Friday of 5-star OT D.J. Humphries in Charlotte.

We'll have a live blog, video, etc.
The following week, I'll likely have a feature about D.J. & his dad, who's a pretty cool dude.

And heres the most recent reply from Mark Wheeler on ITG as well

I wouldn't worry about bad news from Humphries...

"coach dooley is a straight-up guy," humphries said. "you know what you are going to get from him. You can tell he's from the country and you can tell he's going to be hard-nosed about it. That's my guy. That's what i want to be around."

Florida is said to be out in front with Tennessee and South Carolina in the picture. Several other schools are also in the running with an impressive offer list. He's visited knoxville roughly 3-4 times this past summer. He's also close friends with Ja'Wuan James and other members of the team. Terry Joseph is recruiting him......

??????????????????????????

Also another interesting note.

Dooley spoke a few weeks ago in Nashville and said that UT had 15 players visit campus 3 or more times. And out of those 15 players that visited 3 or more times, UT signed 14 of them.

Seems like the more a recruit visits UT's campus, the more likely Coach Dooley seals the deal. I'll take my chances with 93%. Very encouraging that Humphries has already visited 5 times and expects to take another visit to UT.

WOW. impressive.

Anybody got some more straws we can grasp at? Still not seeing anything convincing for one side or the other out of all the recent "buzz" that has made me doubt UT in this. Sounds like everyone is trying to give up and not feel so down on Friday IF he picks Fla.

i haven't said this before but i will now.

florida state coming back to national prominence is more of a problem for recruiting for tennessee than florida.

it's yet another school that will step into alabama and georgia and other parts of the south to cherry pick a recruit here or there that tennessee might have been able to get.

florida and florida state both get a lot of quality in the state of florida and then go cherry pick a lot of guys in nearby states.

when florida state was down, they couldn't go into alabama and grab some of the talent they have so far.

it's just another competitor for tennessee for out of state recruits.
Your one trollific attribute is your persistence in reminding us why UF recruiting is so stellar and without fault or worry. Yet like any homer you turn around and talk about having needs etc to compete this year or next despite back to back to back to back etc classes. FL has it's own weaknesses and we are well aware of ours. To assume a dominant FL ST has no bearing on you is assinine. If your broader point was it hurts us worse then keep it simple. I want to beat a dominant FL and not a sucky one but the arrogance of FL fans based off hiring 2 good coaches and winning a jackpot in Teebow is annoying at best.
