these boards mean diddly poo to the staffs at either florida or tennessee.

Maybe I worded it poorly but I'm not going to categorically agree with you either.

Sites such as this are the sounding boards for this generation's fan base. It used to be the coaches made the circuits and heard the comments, complaints, etc., from the fan base or were interviewed by a local paper with the article running a few days after or even later. Nowadays, things are old news in a matter of hours and message boards such as this are a way for them to almost instantly gauge the mood of their fans. I realize Dooley and Muschamp aren't checking VN or Gator Droppings (whatever your site is) before they go to bed each night, but I do think they use it in ways that make their lives easier.

Additionally, I remain unconvinced the Skeeters of the world aren't serving a purpose for them and that purpose may very well be intentional. When Skeeter delivers some good news to VN, you can almost sense a palpable shift of the spirit and vibes here. If they know these boards exist and the number of people who participate, it seems obvious to me they can use them to their benefit.

By the way, both Vol and Gator should find this amusing...my law partner, who is a HUGE Auburn homer, just came by my office and was commenting how Auburn is "in it until the end" for DJ.

If DJ does go Gator, the negavols will be insufferable. I mean moreso than they already are.

i think they have reason to be. not over DJ necessarily.

but, over the fact that if DJ does go gata, then just who has tennessee won a recruiting battle with this year?

that and the fact that out of state schools would be pulling in better talent out of north carolina and georgia than tennessee has.....something that i believe dooley emphasized when he was hired.

it's bad enough that florida and alabama have better recruiting bases than tennessee, but if they are going to pull better players out of georgia or north carolina than tennessee, then it's really an uphill battle

I think TN wowed him on his last visit, they literally broke out all the stops, and my wife said DJ said "I'm totally feeling UT right now", but then he went home, he broke off all contact, he texts every now and again, but he won't answer his phone. Added to everything else, not good.

Even if he did text one of the gators back....No way he told them where he was going

in mother russia we use another term:

Agitprop ( /ˈædʒɨtprɒp/; from Russian: агитпроп [ɐɡʲɪtˈprop]) is derived from agitation and propaganda.[1] The term originated in Soviet Russia (the future USSR), where the term was a shortened form of отдел агитации и пропаганды (otdel agitatsii i propagandy), i.e., Department for Agitation and Propaganda, which was part of the Central and regional committees of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. The department was later renamed Ideological Department.

Are you really on a Vol board trying to convince Vol fans that they should be upset with their coaches?

ding ding ding

The coaches conceding he's a gator is literally the exact opposite from everything skeeter has been saying... Someone should lose a lot(all) credibility if DJ chooses Florida.

You know what though? Everything still rides on Tyler Bray. If he comes on strong this season and we average 30+ ppg we will pull a decent enough class and be a juggernaut going forward.

upset is maybe not the right word. but, i would be concerned.

it's an honest opinion. look, i try to be objective using the same standard.

if florida currently had tennessee's commitment list and projecting how the rest of the class will probably round out.......

i would be hitting the panic button. big time. that's being honest.

if i were to say that i think this class was shaping up nicely, i would be a hypocrit. because, i would not be happy with this class if it was florida's recruiting class.

i am trying to maintain the same standards.

Nevermind, I was wrong...I'm going home now.

Florida is a much, much better state for recruiting. Anyone willing to deny that is an idiot, and if Tennessee had Florida's recruiting base, I'd be concerned with our class too. But we don't. Nor do we know where DJ is headed to play college ball. Florida is obviously much "cooler" to most high school athletes right now, thus making it easier on a coach to recruit. It was only a few years ago that one of the most decorated players in history took your team to the BCS Championship game, something still VERY fresh on the minds of recruits. Tennessee, at least right now, isn't a destination place for recruits. So yes, it is an uphill battle right now for Tennessee, but it is apples and oranges when comparing the two programs as far as recruiting goes ATP.

Fact of the matter is if he announces for UT I will cheer like there is no tomorrow, but if he announces for UF I'll send angry tweets

what part didn't sound serious?

you don't think every gator fan on earth would be hitting the panic button if florida had tennessee's class right now.

especially, since florida state decided to wake up and start competing again.

the florida faithful would be scared to death. me included.
