Not sure it matters. Buddy of mine does something similar and he advertises so parents will idiotically believe he can then their kids into scholarship ballplayers. They walk in his door and he pushes hard to his alma mater.

I just pray to God that nobody harasses DJ if he picks Florida.

FYI
"Speculation has centered on Florida securing Humphries."
The impression I got from reading this article is that the staff is paying pretty close attention to the pulse on these boards. I'm not saying they're being influenced, but they are sure concerned with the way the wind might be blowing at any point in time. Even the quote above about "speculation" seems to be based on message board chatter, nothing else.
Also, it's not at all far-fetched to believe they've instructed individuals such as Skeeter to provide information, albeit limited, which gives the boards hope they indeed know what they are doing. Now, if this is indeed the case, I would expect Skeeter to soon let us know what might be happening with D.J. If the news is not promising, we can call it damage control if you want. But until Skeeter or someone who might also be on the inside provides an update, I'm not sure this is over quite yet.
Having said all that, it definitely feels like momentum has shifted to UF. I started to say "sounds", but we haven't really heard anything so that would be the wrong choice of words.

these boards mean diddly poo to the staffs at either florida or tennessee.
BP, does this scenario fall within the NCAA guidelines, or is it one of those gray areas they dont waste time on. Just curious.
I don't know any coaches at UF or UT, but I do know that some staffs use message boards for psychological warfare purposes. Like I said, who knows if CDD or CMS do this. But it does happen from time to time.
These MBs are tools in the toolbox just like anything else.
One thing that I haven't understood is this:
It has been said that DJ's parents aren't pressuring him to go to any school. If they're not going to pressure him, why would they allow a non-family member to influence him?
It all falls under the guidelines and there is a question of him being a booster, but if he had a relationship with the kid before UF came knocking, then he can continue. That gets to PJs question about who contacted first. Kids this good tend to be found long before they visit joints like D1.

Because maybe he isn't being influenced and the kid has a genuine interest in Florida?
Mo Collins lives in the same general area as DJ. One of DJ's teammates was training with Collins and he introduced DJ to him. DJ is quoted as saying he convinced me to train with him. He credits Collins with putting him in this position and say's "our bound is ridiculous". People like Collins are a grey area with the NCAA but there is no doubt Collins trains HS kids with an eye out for D1 talent to send to UF. Humphries isn't the first and he won't be the last. It takes years to build up recruiting pipelines and most of our's were severed over the last few years.
