Vol friend of mine sent me a note saying one of your insiders on another board (Volchat maybe?) said that Humphries informed the staff that he is not coming to UT and he has cancelled that supposed visit on August 6th.
I am not sure I believe it either, but certainly interesting.I am sure your Vol Friend has heard that from the coaches since Skeeter said they haven't been talking about him anymore due to the recruiting leaks...Skeeters info is the only one I beleive...he said he was leaning Vol, talks to our coaches everyday, been to UT 5 times, "may visit the 6th", and can redshirt and learn from a great Oline coach and play on a dominant line.
To me, as long as Skeeter doesn't come on here and post news that he has told the coaches otherwise, I will believe he will commit to the Vols on Friday.
Hope the family is smart enough to not be influenced by Mo and let him go to the best place for him...I am confident they are.:good!:

What if the best place for him is Gainesville? You really think he wouldn't get quality coaching from an NFL OL coach for a deacde?
Hope we get him, but purely for class ranking at this point....we are loaded on the OL....I know we need a few great players at this position every year but don't think this will make or break our class on a needs basis...
You Florida guys on here act like if you win this recruiting battle, you've really done something....fact is you need him more than us at this point, your line sucks.

Certainly possible.I do think he could get good coaching at Florida as well, but I think it is even(CHH coached at the Bears and everyone of his starting olineman from ILLINIOS got drafted). I also think he needs a redshirt badly and he may be forced into playing before he is ready at UF.
Take those to factors in and I think distance and his parents opinion become much more important and those seem to be drastically in our favor.
Vol.
It might be true or it might not....One thing I've learned over many years following recruiting is that it is extremely rare to have an actual "insider" in the program. Most of the insider posts you see are BS with rare exceptions like Skeeter. I still think it's 50/50 at this point with Humphries.

Who knows, and in the grand scheme of life, it doesn't make a difference at all.
we have a 14b trillion dollar deficit and Obama is still president. there are a whole lot of things that dwarf this kid's decision in comparison.
I sometimes wish people paid attention to real world stuff as much as they do recruiting.
They will have won a recruiting battle against a rival for the #3 player in the country at a position of need for them. And personally I'd love to have him since he may need a year or two. By that time we'll need him. I want to reload on oline, not count on sophomores on a yearly basis.
This will suck if we lose him. Saying UF hasn't done something here is minimizing.
It won't be devastating, but is it ever? Rarely.

Gator. No doubt in my mind.
